Caden Sterns
After a promising freshman season, much was expected from Caden Sterns in his sophomore season. His production went down in 2019, having fewer tackles and not getting a single interception after the four he got in 2018. Injuries played a part in that as he only played in nine games this year.
The Texas secondary gave up a lot of yards through the air last season, allowing nearly 300 yards per game. Most opposing quarterbacks played some of their best games of the season against the Longhorns. The entire secondary until needs to take a step up in order for Texas to have a successful 2020.
Sterns missed four games this season, including the annual matchup against Oklahoma. First and foremost, he must be able to stay healthy for the entire season. Once that is taken care of, he must go back to being the player he was his freshman year. Tackling, defending passes, and forcing turnovers. It all begins with him back there at safety. Once his game elevates, everyone around him should as well.
