Five Longhorns who need a solid showing at Texas’ pro day

Texas’ Pro Day is scheduled for March 11 and these are the five players it could benefit most.

The Longhorns pro day for the 2021 NFL draft is scheduled for March 11 and all eight of Texas’ draft prospects are slated to participate.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the NFL had to cancel their annual scouting combine, therefore this will the lone chance for NFL organizations to gauge prospect talent outside of the film room.

However, this pro day is much more important for some than for others. Players who know they’ll get drafted use the pro day to showcase athleticism and make organizations second-guess whether they should be selected higher than anticipated.

Offensive tackle Samuel Cosmi and edge rusher/outside linebacker Joseph Ossai are both expected to be first or second round picks in the 2021 NFL draft. This matters in terms of how much more they’ll make under rookie contracts, but both are likely to be selected within the top 50-60 picks overall.

Defensive lineman Ta’Quon Graham improved his draft stock after a solid outing at the Reese’s Senior Bowl following productive junior and senior seasons. Coupled with his position flexibility, he has the potential to be selected late on day two.

For the purposes of this article, we’re only going to focus on the players who need it the most. Here are five prospects that could benefit most from Texas’ pro day — not just to improve their stock — but to get drafted at all.
