ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith thinks the Kristaps Porzingis deal makes the Celtics title favorites

There is no shortage of Boston Celtics fans who are unhappy with the trade of veteran point guard Marcus Smart for star big man Kristaps Porzingis, but ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith is not among those who dislike the deal.

There is no shortage of Boston Celtics fans who are unhappy with the trade of veteran point guard Marcus Smart for star big man Kristaps Porzingis, but ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith is not among those who dislike the deal.

Smith believes that the addition of Porzingis makes the  Celtics the title favorites in the NBA for next season. The ESPN analyst recently praised Porzingis’ defensive abilities and his shooting range as a 7-foot-3 player on an episode of “First Take”. Smith also highlighted team president Brad Stevens’ successful moves in the 2023 NBA draft and believes that Porzingis enhances the team’s chances against the Milwaukee Bucks in the East.
