Alabama relief pitcher Kade Woods announced that he was transferring to LSU on Friday. Woods made the news official by posting the news to his Twitter account.

Woods spent two seasons in Tuscaloosa. He redshirted his first season and pitched in 17 games as a redshirt freshman. Woods had a 4-1 record with a 5.52 ERA. In 29.1 innings pitched, Woods struck out 38 batters and allowed 23 hits.

With Woods’ departure, Alabama has lost two players from a season ago to SEC rivals. Third baseman Colby Shelton announced his decision to transfer to Florida on Thursday. Both Shelton and Woods made the decision to transfer closer to home. Shelton is a native of Lithia, Florida. Woods is a native of Monroe, Louisiana.
