Should the NBA want the Boston Celtics to win the 2024 title?

Would the Association’s executives prefer that the Denver Nuggets repeat, or the Milwaukee Bucks win it again this season?

Should the NBA want the Boston Celtics to win the 2024 title? With so many legacy players in the league’s Western Conference like the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors and maybe even the Phoenix Suns not looking up to the task, who would the league prefer to see hang a banner from a business point of view?

Would the Association’s executives prefer that the Denver Nuggets repeat, or the Milwaukee Bucks win it again this season, given the small markets that they are? Is it time for new blood like the Minnesota Timberwolves or Oklahoma City Thunder to win it all? Or would they be perfectly happy with the Celtics hanging Banner 18?

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Beat” podcast, Adam Kaufman and Evan Valenti, linked up with the Athletic’s Jared Weiss to talk it over. Check it out below!

Joe Mazzulla will do anything to bring another title to the Boston Celtics

They spoke about the pressure that comes with being the NBA’s best as the regular season winds down.

The Boston Celtics need the sort of head coach who is willing to do whatever it takes to win another title, and from what we are hearing from Celtics legend Cedric Maxwell, they happen to have one under contract.

That would of course be current Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla, who recently spoke with the former Boston forward and current Celtics broadcaster. Maxwell spoke about the encounter and what was said on a recent episode of his eponymous CLNS Media podcast with co-host Josue Pavon. Per Max, the two spoke about the pressure that comes with being the NBA’s best as the 2023-24 regular season winds down and the playoffs that are around the corner for the dominating Celtics.

On how the Boston Celtics have every title ingredient save one

What DON’T the Boston Celtics have when it comes to the title hunt?

The Boston Celtics have a pair of 7-foot big men who can shoot, a pair of versatile forwards who can guard down or up, and a pair of All-NBA forwards at their disposal. They also have two of the best defensive floor generals in the league who can play either back court position and score when called on to do so.

They have young athletic stars who also have veteran experience in their numerous playoff runs already under their belt. And they have players on the roster who have won a title before, and been a meaningful part of that squad. What DON’T the Boston Celtics have when it comes to the title hunt?

The host of the Yahoo! Sports semi-eponymous “Good Word with Goodwill” podcast recently debated this very question on a recent episode after Boston stumbled at the end of their league-leading win streak.

Why Kristaps Porzingis is the center of the Boston Celtics’ title hopes

Porzingis has been having one of the better seasons of his career.

So far, in his first season as a member of the Boston Celtics, star Latvian center Kristaps Porzingis has been having one of the better seasons of his career. Putting up 20.4 points on the second-lowest number of field goal attempts in his career, shots are coming easier and more open than ever with the Celtics as KP shoots a career-high 52.0% from the field.

What the Boston bog man has been doing for his teammates has been nothing short of transformational on both ends of the court, with Porzingis’ already high defensive capabilities elevated even higher by this Boston roster.

The host of the semi-eponymous Yahoo! Sports “Devine Intervention” podcast, Dan Devine, weighed in on the Celtics center’s impact on his new team in their 2023-24 campaign, and what his presence might mean for their title hopes.

Michael Wilbon on the Boston Celtics’ title outlook this season

Do they have what it takes to win in the 2024 NBA Finals?

The Boston Celtics might have dropped a couple of games to the Cleveland Cavalierd and the reigning NBA champion Denver Nuggets, but did that hurt their title chances this season in the eyes of league analysts?

With the best record in the NBA and Eastern Conference by 4.5 and 7.5 games respectively, there have not been as many teams as dominant in the regular season in recent memory. But for as much as the offseason additions of Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday have done for that process, do they have what it takes to win in the 2024 NBA Finals?

On a recent episode of the “Rich Eisen” show, “Pardon the Interruption” co-host Michael Wilbon came on as a guest to talk over what he thinks of Boston’s title prospects this summer.

Check it out in the clip above to hear his thoughts.

Why the Boston Celtics will win it all this season

Is this the year Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown get over the hump to win it all?

Over the course of the last few seasons, the Boston Celtics have been one of the most consistently good teams in the NBA, and this season, they are a far better version of themselves both on paper and on the ball court. While they have yet to win it all and hang the long-coveted Banner 18, they look as poised to do so as they have in recent memory.

With new additions Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday helping to push the Celtics to a new stratosphere on both ends of the court, that Boston owns the best record in the league should be little surprise, especially with Derrick White playing like a borderline All-Star. Is this the year Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown get over the hump to win it all?

The folks behind the “Fast Breaks Hoops” YouTube channel put together a clip to talk is through why it might be.

Why the Boston Celtics are not title contenders without Kristaps Porzingis

Injury, of course, has always been a factor in which team ends up winning it all.

The Boston Celtics have the best record in the NBA, but will their regular season success translate to a hung banner by the end of the 2024 NBA Playoffs? For some prominent league analysts, it depends on how the rest of the regular season and the rest of the postseason goes.

Injury, of course, has always been a factor in which team ends up winning it all, but player health might prove critical to the Celtics’ postseason hopes. For Volume’s Jason Timpf, that means a healthy Kristaps Porzingis is necessary if Boston is going to win the 2024 NBA Finals.

On a recent episode of his “Hoops Tonight with Jason Timpf” podcast, Timpf laid out why the Celtics’ title aspirations may hinge on the availability of the Latvian big man.

Are the Celtics still title favorites a quarter-way through the season?

Is it safe to say that Boston is the favorite to win it all given their extensive postseason history?

When the Boston Celtics’ front office decided to shake things up following the team’s surprise ejection from the 2023 NBA Playoffs at the hands of the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals, it was clear the ball club meant business for the NBA’s 2023-24 season.

Now, after adding star big man Kristaps Porzingis and veteran combo guard Jrue Holiday, the Celtics find themselves atop the East standings and in a dead heat with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the league’s best winning percentage a quarter-way through the season. Is it safe to say that Boston is the favorite to win it all given their extensive postseason history?

If you ask Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley, the answer is not ambiguous.
