Free agency is alive and well in the NFL, even while everything else is seemingly put on hold during the coronavirus outbreak. Earlier today, news broke that former Ohio State All-American Malcolm Jenkins is nearing a deal that would bring him back to the Saints.
Now we also get word that another former Buckeye defensive back has landed a free-agent contract with the Las Vegas Raiders — at least according to the Oakland Tribune’s Jerry McDonald.
Apple was originally drafted by the New York Giants with the tenth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Giants traded Apple to the New Orleans Saints in October of 2018 where he has been until he became a free agent Wednesday.
Newest Raider . . . Eli Apple . . . has agreed to terms. #Raiders.

So, if you’re counting — the Saints lost one Buckeye (Apple), but gained another familiar one (Jenkins). So never fear OSU fans, the Saints are still likely to have five former Buckeyes on the squad.
