It took two weeks more than expected, but the Philadelphia Eagles are the NFC East champs and the No. 1 overall seed in the NFC after a win over the Giants.

Jalen Hurts returned to the lineup and provided stability at quarterback, going 20-35 passing for 229 yards and one interception.

It wasn’t Hurts at his best, but the Pro Bowl quarterback was efficient and made some big throws to get the Eagles an early lead.

Jake Elliott was the MVP, going 5-5 on field goal attempts on the afternoon with a long of 54. He also converted one extra point.

After being elevated from the practice squad, third-year quarterback Davis Webb was 23 of 40 passing for 168 yards and one touchdown in the loss.

With the No. 6 seed locked in, the Giants chose to rest key starters on both sides of the football.

Philadelphia still had too many sloppy scenarios on both sides of the football but will have a week off and a first-round bye after securing the top seed, allowing for key starters to rehab various injuries.
