The Super Bowl, in case anyone forgot is the NFL’s championship game. And for championship games, you have to not only pull out all the stops when it comes to pomp and pizzaz, you bring out a man of the people. Maybe the man of the people.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson gave a stirring pre-game speech for Super Bowl LVI. A speech reminiscent of his WWE days where he was the “People’s Champ.” Johnson — who is more known for his acting prowess these days — could not resist pumping up the Rams and Bengals in a way that would’ve made his old boss, Vince McMahon, proud.

It was a fun, melodramatic idea to mesh the NFL and WWE for the Super Bowl. But, if I’m being candid: I’m still not sure what “it’s time” refers to.
The start of the game? The start, or end, of Johnson’s speech? Maybe we should get Johnson back out there for the halftime show and the post-game celebrations, to be sure. This isn’t the time to recklessly speculate over meaning. There’s football on!
