Perhaps the best of the second-tier wide receivers in what is an unusually deep wideout class, TCU’s Jalen Reagor may not even make it to pick No. 54. If he’s there when Buffalo goes on the clock, however, general manager Brandon Beane should run from One Bills Drive to the floating podium in Las Vegas to make the pick himself.

Reagor is one of the draft’s more intriguing wideouts. Though he’s only 5-foot-11, he plays bigger than his size – he’s not afraid to go up and challenge for a jump ball. Though he’s not necessarily polished, he’s also a solid route runner.

Oh, and he’s probably going to give Alabama’s Henry Ruggs a run for fastest 40-yard-dash time at this year’s NFL Scouting Combine.

Though he only tallied one 1,000-receiving yard season at TCU, he’d be a tremendous selection in the second round. He may not be a No. 1 receiving option in Buffalo’s offense, but he’d be a nice complementary piece, adding more speed while also serving as an unexpected red-zone threat.

Lorenzo Alexander is no more for the Bills, as the veteran and team leader hung it up after the season. In Sean McDermott’s defense, the Bills put a premium on the nickel spot.

If a cornerback is there, it’s usually Taron Johnson’s job. The Bills got a good enough season from him in Year 2 and he had a stellar rookie season as well. But if a linebacker was there, it was always Alexander. Now the Bills need to replace him.

Akeem Davis-Gaither is the perfect mix of what the Bills got there from Alexander. At the recent Senior Bowl, our friends at Draft Wire said Davis-Gaither “clearly separated himself” from the rest of the linebackers and is one of the “best sleeper picks.” In Alexander the Bills had an important piece that could do two things: rush the passer and play in coverage. Davis-Gaither receives praise for doing both of those and the Bills will love that.
