Don’t expect Peyton Manning to join Twitter anytime soon

Former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning isn’t interested in social media.

During a call-in appearance on The Rich Eisen Show on Tuesday, former Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning talked about Eli, his younger brother, joining Twitter.

Eli was an instant hit on Twitter, prompting some fans to wonder if Peyton would be as well.

I wouldn’t hold your breath,” Peyton said when asked if he’ll follow Eli to Twitter. “I wouldn’t hold your breath. You know, I’m still — I used to have a flip phone up until years ago, Rich, so I’m kind of catching up.”

Manning says he follows social media a little bit but he is in no rush to join any social networks.

“I can kind of keep up a little bit, you know, but I’m probably not as up to date as probably everybody else.”

After competing with Tiger Woods against Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson in “The Match” on Sunday, Manning said he and Woods teased Brady and Mickelson about their social media presence in a group text leading up to the golf outing.

“[I] said, ‘Wow, it’s always been a goal for me and Tiger to beat a couple of professional Instagrammers,'” Manning joked. “That was really high on our bucket list — so I’m probably a little bit old school that way. I lived a long time without it before it ever existed so I guess I kind of think I could probably keep surviving without it.”
