Daryl Morey, Ben Simmons, other Sixers join in to celebrate Joe Biden

The Philadelphia 76ers all join in on celebrating new President Joe Biden.

The 2020 election is all, but over, as Joe Biden is set to win the 2020 election and become the 46th President of the United States of America. The win comes at an important time as the world is still dealing with the global coronavirus pandemic as well as civil rights issues.

Biden defeated incumbent Donald Trump in the race and he has the support of a lot of people in America right now.

The Philadelphia 76ers, who had a powerful influence on the voting turnout in the city, had a lot of big reactions to Biden winning. Joel Embiid and Josh Richardson were the first to react to the news, but new Sixers president Daryl Morey took it a step further by going out into the streets to celebrate the victory.

Ben Simmons then joined in the fun taking Trump’s “bad things happen in Philadelphia” quote and replacing the word “bad” with “good” things happen in Philly.

Then, there was Matisse Thybulle who kept pushing the message of how important voting is. He chose the word “vote” on the back of his jersey for his social justice message while the team was in the bubble.

Tobias Harris was a positive influence in leading the team’s social justice efforts while down in Orlando and he also shared a congratulatory post for Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

This is a huge step forward for America as it shows that democracy is still a thing in this country. It also shows how important it is to vote and left your voice be heard on important issues like what is going on in the country. [lawrence-related id=38915,38912,38909]
