Dalton Knecht earns first team All-American honors

Tennessee’s Dalton Knecht earns first team All-American honors.

Tennessee fifth-year guard Dalton Knecht was named a First Team All-American by the Associated Press on Tuesday.

Knecht is the second Vol in the last 41 seasons (1983-2024) to earn Associated Press First Team All-America honors, joining Grant Williams in 2018-19.

Dale Ellis (1982-83) and Bernard King (1976-77) also earned First Team All-America honors at Tennessee.

Tennessee (24-8, 14-4 SEC) will begin NCAA Tournament play on Thursday as a No. 2 seed.

The Vols will play No. 15 seed Saint Peter’s (19-13, 12-8 MAAC) at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Tipoff between Tennessee and the Peacocks is slated for 9:20 p.m. EDT and will be televised by TNT.

Tennessee won the Southeastern Conference regular-season championship outright in 2024.
