Dallas Cowboys: Top 2020 NFL draft needs

The Dallas Cowboys have plenty of holes in their roster on both sides of the ball, so we break down the biggest ones

Edge Defender

This season the Cowboys finally brought in an edge defender that could take some of the pressure off of Lawrence in Quinn. Now the former Tar Heel could be looking to go elsewhere as his deal expires at the end of the season.

Behind the duo they have Dorance Armstrong who has shown flashes but nothing substantial to believe he is any more than a rotational piece right now. Last year the Cowboys used a late rounder on Jalen Jelks who could add to that rotation but the team needs another edge rusher who can be an immediate impact player.

The Cowboys have shown an affinity for Boise State Broncos in the NFL and Curtis Weaver should be on their short list of pass rushers to compliment Lawrence on the weak side of the defense.

Weaver has 13.5 sacks this year and 19.5 tackles for loss, he has been disruptive this season. He is still a bit raw as he isn’t very refined as a pass rusher but he has all the tools to be disruptive at the next level. A guy who the Cowboys could definitely mold at the next level. The new staff will be key in his development.
