Crystal ball prediction entered in favor of Texas for three-star TE Lafayette Kaiuway

Texas is emerging as the favorite to land the 6-foot-5 tight end.

Texas is gaining some momentum on the recruiting trail for the 2023 class.

Although there are only two members of Texas’ 2023 recruiting class currently, several of the nation’s top prospects have had positive visits on the Forty Acres recently.

There is expected to be a slew of commitments for the Longhorns in the near future, and the first domino to fall may be three-star tight end Lafayette Kaiuway.

Two 247Sports crystal ball predictions have been entered in favor of Texas to land Kaiuway. Texas insider Mike Roach dropped the latest one on Tuesday, while Texas recruiting editor Hudson Standish entered one on March 14. Both were at a medium confidence level.

The 6-foot-5 Arlington native is rated the No. 24 tight end in the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 58 overall prospect in the state of Texas, according to 247Sports.

In 2021, Kaiuway was a Texas 8-6A first-team all-district selection at tight end as a junior for Sam Houston High School.
