Malcolm Brown was the other name up for consideration as the best to wear number 90. Brown was also a five-star prospect out of Brenham, Texas. He had offers from most of the top Big 12 schools, Arizona and Arkansas. He chose to stay in his home state and play for the Longhorns. He was the second-ranked defensive tackle in the country according to 247Sports.

Brown would play three years for the Longhorns and would be finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Award (top defensive player) and the Outland Trophy (top interior lineman) in his final season in 2014. After playing in 13 games as a freshman, Brown would start the next 26 consecutive games for the Longhorns.

After being named a consensus All-American in 2014, he would be drafted in the first round by the New England Patriots. After his rookie contract expired he would move on to New Orleans. As a pro, Brown has been quite productive while being a part of two Super Bowl winning teams.

No current Longhorn wears number 90.
