On Sunday, the Washington Commanders snapped a nine-game losing streak and a seven-game home losing streak by defeating the New York Giants 21-18 at Northwest Stadium.
Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 23 of 29 passes for 226 yards and rushed for 44 yards in the win. Most importantly, Daniels continues to take care of the football and make clutch plays, whether with his arm or his legs.
It was an unusual day for both teams. The Commanders kicked seven field goals and did not score a touchdown. Meanwhile, the Giants scored three touchdowns but did not attempt an extra point. New York lost its kicker, Graham Gano, on the opening kickoff and could not attempt extra points or field goals, which would later haunt them.
Washington’s win over the Giants ends New York’s recent dominance over them.
