Colt McCoy, Sam Ehlinger were back in Austin amid Texas’ Arch Manning pursuit

You have to appreciate all the stops that Sarkisian and Co. are pulling out.

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is known as an excellent recruiter and relationship builder, and it’s easy to see why.

While five-star quarterback Arch Manning and a plethora of the nation’s top uncommitted prospects were on campus over the weekend, Sarkisian brought in former Longhorns Colt McCoy and Sam Ehlinger.

Ehlinger was also present during the Quinn Ewers pursuit a few months ago, which ended in positive fashion for Texas as Ewers officially joined the program shortly after. Can he do it again with Manning?

Over the weekend, McCoy appeared to be at one of Texas’ spring practices and spoke with the team, while Ehlinger was seen spending time with Manning at the Dell Match Play.

Texas appears to be in solid position with Manning, as On3 recently updated their prediction machine to now have the Longhorns narrowly edging out Alabama as the favorite program to land the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect in the 2023 class.

Alabama and Georgia appear to be the two primary programs that Texas will have to fend off for Manning. There is no timetable for his decision at this time, but you have to appreciate all the stops that Sarkisian and Co. are pulling out.
