The CW will broadcast Oregon State, Washington State football in 2024, now home to Pac-2 After Dark

The CW’s got ACC games in the afternoon and Oregon State, Washington State after dark.

The CW is officially the home of Power 5 football. Technically. Sorta.

The network that gave the world Arrow, Gossip Girl and a wide array of shoes that went completely off the rails toward the end continued its expansion into the world of sports. On Tuesday, CW officials announced it has secured broadcast rights to the remaining teams in the Pac-12. Both of them.

Washington State and Oregon State will have all their home games broadcast on the over-the-air basic cable network. The only exceptions; Oregon State’s Civil War rivalry game with Oregon and Texas Tech’s trip to Pullman for a showdown with the Cougars in Week 2, per Stewart Mandel.

This move expands the CW’s reach into college football. The network began airing weekly ACC games in 2023. The addition of a West Coast presence will help pad out the schedule, particularly on days LIV Golf isn’t providing free content.

While the Beavers and Cougars don’t have the most exciting home schedules — Oregon State’s biggest matchup after Oregon comes against Purdue and Wazzu’s marquee game after the Apple Cup may be Wyoming — the persistent popularity of their late night kickoffs makes this an asset. No one may be circling Washington State-Utah State on their calendars, but there’s still a large subset of fans who’ll tune in for a 10 p.m. ET start time.
