When you pull up the team rankings on ESPN you see the North Carolina rise, the Ohio State dominance and USC’s bounce-back are all noticeable.
What you also see is the Big Ten that has six other schools besides Ohio State in the current top 20 of team rankings while the SEC puts up another five.
The ACC and Pac 12 both had three a piece while Notre Dame is also listed. That leaves one power-five conference without much representation, huh?
Only Texas of the Big XII checks in the top 20 as it sits today with the Longhorns coming in at 13. It is worth noting that both Texas Tech (21) and Baylor (25) are just outside the top 20 but still clearly far from elite.
It’s also a bit odd to see Oklahoma off to a slow start with just a pair of commitments in the ESPN 300.
