Celtics wing alum Matt Ryan cut by Los Angeles Lakers; Minnesota Timberwolves plan to sign to two way deal

Ryan appeared in a dozen games for Los Angeles this season before he was cut, over which he averaged 3.9 points and 1.2 boards per contest.

2021-22 Boston Celtics two way wing Matt Ryan‘s stint with the Los Angeles Lakers has ended, but his NBA career continues on according to recent reporting from The Athletic’s Shams Charania and John Krawczynski. The pair are reporting that while the Lakers have decided to move on from the Chattanooga alum, the Minnesota Timberwolves plan to bring Ryan on as a two way player.

A sizable contingent of Celtics fans were unhappy that the team decided not to bring Ryan back for the 2022-23 season after a strong showing in Las Vegas Summer League, with the White Plains native instead latching on to the Los Angeles Lakers.
