Cedi Osman discusses progression of Spurs throughout the season

After the San Antonio Spurs’ tough loss to the Golden State Warriors, Cedi Osman spoke about the improvements of the team.

The San Antonio Spurs have been sitting at the bottom of the Western Conference for almost the entire season. Their defense has struggled mightily, and they haven’t won many games because of it. However, since the All-Star break, the Spurs have found a new groove. And though their three-game win streak was snapped by the Golden State Warriors on Sunday night, they look like a different team.

Victor Wembanyama has been on fire since the break, and the rest of the team is slowly but surely learning how to play around him. Even when guys have been out, the Spurs have been able to fight hard and stay in games.

“We have changed a lot since the beginning of the season,” Osman said. “We’re a totally different team. I think you can see that, obviously, when we’re playing on the court. We’re much different. We obviously know now what everybody else is capable of. Now everybody understands as individuals what we have to do. I think we’re better. I think that if the season would start today we’d be in a different spot. I really do believe that.”

Heading into next year, the Spurs will be looking to significantly improve, and if their recent stretch is any indication of their potential level of play, they should be in a good spot moving forward.
