We’re still a season away from Texas and Oklahoma officially joining the SEC, but many are already looking forward to the 2024 conference schedule.
Barrett Sallee of CBS Sports recently ranked the SEC schedules from toughest to easiest for the 2024 season. Of the 16 total teams in the conference, Sallee believes Texas has the easiest schedule aside from Arkansas.
Oklahoma was listed at No. 1 with the toughest schedule. The Sooners top home opponents will be Alabama and Tennessee, while still having to travel to face LSU and Auburn on the road.
While Texas fans feel their first year in the SEC will be a tough one compared to Big 12 schedules, the Longhorns were fortunate with drawing opponents such as Vanderbilt and Kentucky.
Here’s what Sallee had to say about Texas landing at No. 15 on his list.
We are all excited about the rekindled rivalry between the Longhorns and Aggies, and the fact that it’ll be on the road will make it an even tougher test for coach Steve Sarkisian’s crew. However, the other two true road games — Arkansas and Vanderbilt — more than make up for it. The Horns get Georgia at home, but their other three home games will likely be winnable.
