Rams would be at home and on road if they make it to Super Bowl

The Rams are looking at being the road team if they make it to Super Bowl LVI in their home stadium

The oddity didn’t happen last year when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs at Raymond James Stadium.

The Buccaneers were the home team because it was the NFL’s year to have that “honor.”

However, if the Rams defeat the San Francisco 49ers in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game, the NFC West champions would be the road team at SoFi Stadium because it is the AFC’s turn to be the home squad.

SoFi Stadium is where the Rams call home. The only other way this could come to fruition would be for the Rams to face the Chargers in a regular-season game that the AFC team would be the home squad.

The AFC Champion will have the choice on what uniform it will wear. The Rams — or the 49ers — would call the coin toss,

We’re sure the Rams would be happy to just to be in the game,

Jaguars’ Super Bowl odds following 2021 NFL Draft

The Jaguars have +12500 odds to win Super Bowl LVI, the third-worst in the league ahead of the Detroit Lions and the Houston Texans.

The 2021 NFL draft is behind us, and that means that, more or less, offseason roster turnover has come to an end. Fan and analysts have a much better idea of where each team’s strengths and weaknesses will be, and based on that, BetMGM has updated its odds to win Super Bowl LVI.

Unsurprisingly, the two teams that played in the Super Bowl last year are considered the most likely to win it this time around. The Kansas City Chiefs have the best odds at +450, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are just behind them at +700.

Despite having the worst record in 2020 and drafting first overall, Jacksonville doesn’t have the worst odds to win the Super Bowl next year. Those honors go to its division rival, the Houston Texans, who are +25000 to win. There’s a lot of uncertainty in the situation with quarterback Deshaun Watson, and the team used its first pick in the draft to select a passer in Davis Mills.

Just as they did in our last update, the Jaguars currently have the third-worst odds at +12500, ahead of Houston and the Detroit Lions (+20000). The Jags’ other AFC South rivals, the Indianapolis Colts, and Tennessee Titans, have +2000 and +4000 odds, respectively.

Despite Jacksonville’s improvements this offseason (such as adding a franchise quarterback in first-overall pick Trevor Lawrence), oddsmakers think their chances of going from worst to first in one year are slim to none.

Jags avoid lowest Super Bowl LVI odds in updated Vegas projections

Despite the offseason additions, the Jags are still +12500 to win Super Bowl LVI in 2022, coming in ahead of Houston and Detroit.

After coming off a 1-15 season that landed them the first overall pick in this month’s NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars are far from a trendy pick to win Super Bowl LVI. Though the team brought in a new coach in Urban Meyer, addressed several needs in free agency and will likely be adding a franchise quarterback in Trevor Lawrence, this is still a rebuilding project, and a winning season (let alone a playoff berth) is unlikely.

However, the Jags do at least seem to be heading in the right direction, and the same cannot be said for several other teams in the league. In the post-free agency Super Bowl LVI odds from BetMGM, Jacksonville is +12500 to win, giving it the third-worst odds in football.

The two teams below it are the Detroit Lions and its divisional rival, the Houston Texans. Detroit comes in at +15000, and it fully embraced a rebuild earlier this offseason when it traded franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford to Los Angeles in exchange for a cornucopia of draft picks. The team also received Jared Goff in the deal, who Vegas feels needs talent around him.

Meanwhile, the Texans have spent the offseason in flux with most of the controversy centered around quarterback Deshaun Watson, who initially requested a trade earlier in the offseason. Afterward, he found himself at the center of numerous civil lawsuits (currently at 21 in total) alleging he engaged in sexual assault and other inappropriate behavior.

It’s unclear what Watson’s status will be for the 2021 season, but it seems the uncertainty around that situation is contributing to Houston’s league-worst +20000 odds to take home the title.

While it’s probably unrealistic that the Jaguars will go from being the worst team to playoff contention in one season, it seems that Vegas doesn’t think they’ll be the worst team again this time around.

What date is Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles?

With the addition of a 17th regular-season game, Super Bowl LVI will be played Feb. 13, 2022 at SoFi Stadium.

The NFL has pushed its regular season to 17 games. That means a lot of schedule shuffling … including the Super Bowl.

With the added game to the regular season, Super Bowl LVI will no longer be on the first Sunday in February.

The game, which will take place at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, is set for Feb. 13, 2022.

The regular season will begin on Thursday night, Sept. 9, and will end on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022. The Pro Bowl will be played on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

“This is a monumental moment in NFL history,” NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. “The CBA with the players and the recently completed media agreements provide the foundation for us to enhance the quality of the NFL experience for our fans. And one of the benefits of each team playing 17 regular-season games is the ability for us to continue to grow our game around the world.”

Super Bowl LVI odds update: Jags odds remain the lowest to win the big one

Jacksonville is the least likely team to win the Super Bowl next year, according to the latest gambling odds from BetMGM.

Coming off a 1-15 season that landed them the first overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, it shouldn’t be surprising that Vegas doesn’t think the Jaguars will be competing for a championship in 2021. In our odds preview for the Jags in January the Cardiac Cats had the lowest odds of all 32 teams to win Super Bowl LVI per BetMGM. With the season now over, their figure (+10000) and positioning remained the same, though there were changes in other places throughout the odds listings.

The Kansas City Chiefs, who lost to Tampa this year in the big game, are the favorites to win next year at +550, followed by Green Bay (+900) and the defending champion Buccaneers (+1000), who improved their previous odds (+1200).

The Jags are expected to use the first overall pick to select former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, one of the best quarterback prospects in recent memory. And though they hope Lawrence will be the guy to turn things around in Duval, the gambling community seems to think that improvement could be a slow burn.

Here are the full betting odds for all 32 teams.
