Tennessee offers 2022 Georgia offensive lineman

Tennessee offers 2022 Georgia offensive lineman.

Tennessee is on the board early in 2022 offensive lineman Kanaya Charlton’s recruitment, as the Vols extended an offer to the Brunswick, Ga. native.

Charlton does not hold a 247Sports Composite rating, but is attracting major attention with his 6-foot-5, 340-pound frame as a sophomore offensive guard at Brunswick High School.

Kentucky, Florida State, Florida and South Carolina have also offered the 2022 prospect.

Although Tennessee is the latest school to offer Charlton, that list could grow as his high school football career moves on. Tennessee’s offensive line returns every contributor in 2020, but will have plenty of turnover after the upcoming season and beyond.

Tennessee to receive visit from 5-star Payton Page

Tennessee to receive visit from 5-star Payton Page.

A big recruiting weekend looms for Tennessee football, as highly-touted defensive tackle Payton Page will be on campus for a visit.

Page is one of the top recruits in the 2021 class, rated as a 5-star prospect on the 247Sports Composite. The Composite also lists him as the No. 4 defensive tackle in the country and No. 28 overall player.

Page is a 6-foot-4, 315-pound defensive tackle that takes up space on the defensive front and often overpowers opposing offensive lineman with his wide base and quick burst. Out of Greensboro, N.C., Page’s recruitment has involved offers from most of the elite programs in the country.

A common mantra in college football recruiting states that if a school can get a prospect on campus, they give themselves a shot. Although there is a long way to go, but Tennessee may give itself a chance with Page down the stretch.

Tennessee set to host 4-star Alabama defensive lineman

Tennessee set to host 4-star Alabama defensive lineman.

Tennessee football will host elite defensive tackle prospect Payton Page in the coming days, but Page is not the only highly-touted defender that will be on campus in Knoxville in the near future.

4-star defensive end Jeremiah Williams will pay the Vols a visit to give them a chance to impress the Birmingham, Ala. native.

Williams is rated the No. 6 weak-side defensive end prospect in the country on the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 5 overall prospect in the talent-rich state of Alabama.

Alabama and Auburn both are gunning hard for Williams, but Tennessee is looking to get in the mix as well. Jeremy Pruitt knows the Alabama high school football landscape as well as any coach in the country after his time at Hoover High School, and he will have the talented Ramsay High School junior pay him a visit.

Notre Dame Offers 2021 S Mukuba of Texas

Irish offer ’21 S Andrew Mukuba of Texas.

Texas is a hotbed for recruiting and today Recruiting Coordinator/Special Teams Coordinator Brian Polian made a call out to one of the state’s top prospects, Safety Andrew Mukuba. The conversation went well, with Polian offering the defender a scholarship.

It’s been quite a day for the DB from Austin, also picking up offers from Duke and Washington State, which adds to schools like Alabama, TCU, and Auburn having already thrown their hat in the ring. The 5’11”, soon to be junior looks like he could be a star on the offensive side of the ball as well.

The highlights are impressive as Mukuba runs by the competition over and over again. Ranked as the 198th overall player and 8th safety by 247Sports while Rivals has him 36th at his position and ESPN has yet to rank the speedy safety. Mukuba it is still very early in his recruitment, but getting an early Notre Dame offer will hopefully catch the Texas star’s eye.

Five-star quarterback Caleb Williams will reportedly visit Oklahoma next week

Hello, Lincoln Riley. The No. 1 quarterback in the 2021 recruiting class will reportedly visit Oklahoma next week.

Hello, Lincoln Riley.

The Oklahoma head coach lost his head honcho of the 2021 recruiting class when former No. 1 quarterback Brock Vandagriff de-committed on Jan. 1. Now, the current No. 1 quarterback in the 2021 recruiting class is set to visit.

Caleb Williams, the third overall prospect and top quarterback in the 2021 recruiting class according to Rivals, will reportedly visit Oklahoma from March 5-7. It was first reported by 247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong and later confirmed by Rivals.com east coast recruiting analyst Adam Friedman.

Williams is one of two quarterbacks who were offered by Riley in the 2021 recruiting class. He visited Oklahoma after Brock Vandagriff committed in the spring of 2019. The upcoming visit will be his first without the Sooners having a quarterback committed and the first as Riley’s main target in the class.

LSU was the perceived leader for Williams until offensive wizard Joe Brady moved up to the NFL with the Carolina Panthers.

Clemson is another at the top of the race, but Dabo Swinney is bringing in the No. 2 quarterback in the 2020 class as the heir apparent to Trevor Lawrence. If we learned anything about that in 2020, Oklahoma was unable to snatch Bryce Young due to Spencer Rattler becoming a Sooner in the 2019 class.

Oklahoma only has three commitments thus far in the 2021 recruiting class.

Notre Dame Adds 2020 Walk-On Quarterback

New Prairie High School’s Chase Ketterer announced Thursday night that he’ll attend college at Notre Dame as a walk-on prospect in the 2020 class.

Local kid chooses local school.  No matter how many times you rinse and repeat, that story never gets old and always feels good.  Now we get to hear it in regards to Notre Dame’s latest 2020 commitment, a local quarterback who is chasing big dreams with the Fighting Irish.

New Prairie High School’s Chase Ketterer announced Thursday night that he’ll attend college at Notre Dame as a walk-on prospect in the 2020 class.

The most interesting piece of conversation in this story isn’t so much a walk-on taking a chance at a big time school, but one doing so instead of taking Valparaiso up on their scholarship offer.

As a prospect Ketterer isn’t some incredible get.  He’s a run first quarterback, going for 5464 rush yards over the last three seasons and scoring 98 touchdowns.  He added 1494 pass yards and 17 passing touchdowns in that time.

Ketterer was a 2019 Indiana High School Athletic Association, Northern Indiana Conference (North) MVP and named a member of the Indiana class 4A All-State team this past fall.

Georgia football offers Philadelphia DE Enai White

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to 2022 defensive end Enai White. White is considering Penn State as well.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to 2022 defensive end Enai White. White is a talented player out of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He currently doesn’t have a star rating, but projects as either a four or five-star prospect.

White plays for Imhotep Institute Charter High School. He announced the offer via his Twitter account:

White is only a sophomore in high school, but he’s already visited Penn State, who may be a front-runner for him. At 6’5″, 225lbs White is still filling in his frame. He has good length, plays basketball too, and is receiving interest from major colleges throughout the country.

Will he choose Georgia? Penn State? He’s yet to release a list of top schools. Kirby Smart and Georgia currently don’t have a commitment in the class of 2022. It’s still early for the class of 2022, but any prospect UGA offers this early in the process is worth keeping an eye on.

Check out his sophomore highlights via Hudl below. White has an elite burst off the snap and flashes good closing speed:

Tennessee offers California defensive end

Tennessee offers California defensive end.

Tennessee offered California defensive end Jailen Weaver this week, looking to bring the towering defender from the west coast to Knoxville.

Tennessee clearly saw something they loved in Weaver, as only the third school to extend a scholarship offer. San Jose State and Indiana are the other two programs on the board.

Weaver is a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports, and rated the No. 57 prospect at his position in the country. With a commanding 6-foot-7, 280-pound figure, the Antioch, Calif. native has tremendous upside with still another season of high school football left to play.

New Tennessee defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh is Weaver’s primary recruiter.

Tennessee offers 2022 LSU commit

Tennessee offers 2022 LSU commit.

Tennessee football has offered 2022 safety Bryce Anderson out of Beaumont, Texas.

The West Brook High School sophomore is being heavily pursued by some of the top programs in college football, and is currently committed to the defending national champion LSU Tigers. Alabama, Baylor, Florida and Florida State are just a few of the other schools with offers on the table.

Although he does not have a 247Sports Composite rating, the 2022 prospect is listed by 247Sports as the No. 6 safety in his class and a 4-star.

An athletic, speedy defensive back that runs track, Anderson’s recruitment likely will not slow down despite his commitment.
