Ty’Son Williams scored TD on fourth-and-1 for Ravens

Ty’Son Williams give the Ravens the lead with his first NFL TD

The Baltimore backfield has been decimated by season-ending injuries.

J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards are just the start of running backs the Ravens have lost.

They apparently have plenty of depth, however, in the stable.

The Ravens have been feeding Ty’Son Williams the football on Monday against the Las Vegas Raiders.

After Mark Andrews came up short of a first down, John Harbaugh decided to go for it on fourth-and-1.

The Raiders are prone to being weak on defense and they lived up to that billing as Williams burst through the line. He not only got the first down, but he also got a touchdown from 35 yards, the first of his NFL career.

A few more runs like that will keep veterans Latavius Murray and LeVeon Bell on the sidelines.

The 5-foot-11, 220-pound Williams played college football at North Carolina, South Carolina, and BYU.

He totaled 1,120 yards in college with a best of 471 in 2017 for the Gamecocks.

Ravens’ Gus Edwards, Marcus Peters suffer torn ACL injuries back-to-back during practice

#Ravens’ Gus Edwards, Marcus Peters suffer torn ACL injuries back-to-back during practice:

The Baltimore Ravens’ injury nightmare ahead of the 2021 season has only gotten significantly worse on Thursday.

Per multiple reports, Ravens cornerback Marcus Peters tore his ACL during practice.

Moments later, practice was called off.

That decision was made after, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, running back Gus Edwards tore his ACL as well… on the very next rep during team drills:

Follow-up reports indicated that the injuries were feared to specifically be torn ACL injuries. Both will end Peters and Edwards’ seasons.

The injuries to Peters and Edwards come after the Ravens already lost starting running back JK Dobbins to a torn ACL earlier this offseason. Additionally, running back Justice Hill also had a season-ending Achilles injury this summer.

Remaining on the depth chart in the backfield for the Ravens are Ty’Son Williams and Trenton Cannon. Le’Veon Bell also recently signed to the Ravens practice squad.

Baltimore Ravens sign Sammy Watkins

Sammy Watkins is off to his fourth NFL team, signing with the Baltimore Ravens

The answer will be Sammy Watkins.

The question: Who has caught NFL passes from MVPs Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson?

The former Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver is joining his fourth NFL team, the Baltimore Ravens.

Adam Schefter broke the news on Friday.

Watkins, who will be 28 in June, won a Super Bowl with the Chiefs.

He played three years with KC and Buffalo and one with the Rams.

The WR from Clemson has 321 catches for 4,665 yards in the NFL.

What running backs have had 100-yard games in the Super Bowl?

What running backs have broken the 100-yard mark in Super Bowl history? The record-holder is a surprise, Washington’s Tim Smith.

Houston Texans hiring Ravens’ David Culley as head coach

The Houston Texans filled their head coaching position by hiring David Culley, a longtime NFL assistant most recently with the Baltimore Ravens

The Houston Texans are closing in on becoming the seventh NFL team to fill a head coaching vacancy with news Wednesday they will hire Baltimore Ravens assistant David Culley.

The news was first reported by the Houston Chronicle, which reported Culley and the Texans were working toward a contract.

Culley spent the past two seasons in Baltimore. He has been an NFL coach for 27 years. Culley was Baltimore’s passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach. The Ravens finished the 2020 season ranked last in the NFL in passing.

Culley is stepping into a challenging situation. Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson is at odds with management over its indifference toward his suggestions while looking for a GM and coach.

The Texans previously hired Nick Caserio from the New England Patriots’ organization as GM.

Watson had suggested team speak with Chiefs Offensive Coordinator Eric Bieniemy about the opening, which came about after Bill O’Brien was fired following an 0-4 start and Romeo Crennel finished as interim coach with a 4-8 mark.

The Texans were a playoff team in 2019 and sunk to 4-12 in 2020. They also traded All-Pro WR DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals in the offseason in a controversial move.

The Ravens, meanwhile, will receive two third-round compensatory picks (one in 2021 and another in 2022) for Culley getting hired from their staff. This comes from a resolution adopted in November that is meant to incentivize NFL teams to develop and hire minority candidates for head-coaching and general manager positions.

Mark Ingram II with classy goodbye to Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens are cutting ties with veteran RB Mark Ingram II

The Baltimore Ravens’ running game blossomed and as it did with Lamar Jackson, J.K. Dobbins, and Gus Edwards, Mark Ingram became the odd-man out.

After being a healthy scratch down the stretch and in the playoffs, the Ravens have released the veteran running back.

Ingram was grateful for his two seasons with the Ravens.

Ingram joined the Ravens on a three-year, $15 million deal in the 2019 offseason. He rushed for 1,018 yards and scored 15 touchdowns in his first season with the team.

In 2020, he had 299 yards in 11 games.

Bills’ fans come up big for Lamar Jackson’s favorite charity

The #BillsMafia with another great charitable act.

The #BillsMafia is coming up big for a player once again. And it isn’t one of their own.

The fans are donating money to Lamar Jackson’s favorite charity after the Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback left Saturday’s loss to the Bills with a concussion.

The generosity is out of concern and appreciation.

Per WBKW:

A Bills fan on Reddit shared that he donated $25 to Jackson’s favorite charity, the Louisville Chapter of Blessings in a Backpack.

Blessings in a Backpack is a charity that works to feed elementary school children who are in need on weekends.

Back in 2018, Jackson donated $25,000 to the charity which helped start a new program at an elementary school in Louisville, which is where Jackson played in college.

Ravens fans are taking notice of the generosity of Bills fans and thanked them for donating money, with some Baltimore Ravens fans donating money to Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo.

This is not a first. The #BillsMafia donated to Andy Dalton’s charity/foundation when he helped the team make the playoffs. And contributed thousands to a local hospital after Josh Allen’s grandmother died this season.

Well played. #BillsMafia.

Baltimore Ravens lose Lamar Jackson to concussion protocol

The Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson is in concussion protocol and out of the game

Everything turned sour for the Baltimore Ravens quickly on Saturday.

Just when they looked like they were going to tie the Buffalo Bills in an AFC Divisional game, Lamar Jackson was picked by Taron Johnson, who returned it 101 yards for a touchdown.

On the ensuing drive, a bad snap led to a weird play that saw Jackson injured as he threw the ball away.

He headed for the locker room and the Ravens announced the reigning league MVP was in concussion protocol.

Watch: Taron Johnson equals NFL playoff record with 101-yard Pick-6

Taron Johnson returned a pick of Lamar Jackson 101 yards for a Buffalo touchdown

The Baltimore Ravens appeared to be set to tie the Buffalo Bills on Saturday in Orchard Park. Not so fast.

On third-and-goal late in the third quarter, Lamar Jackson was picked by Taron Johnson, who took it 101 yards for a touchdown and after the PAT the Bills led, 17-3.

The return equaled the mark set by George Teague in 1994. Teague’s 101-yard interception return was the longest in Packer history.

The Teague Pick-6 can be viewed at the 5:10 mark in the video below.

Watch: Ravens’ Justin Tucker with a different double doink

Justin Tucker has missed two field goals, hitting the upright twice. Doink. Doink.

Justin Tucker’s accuracy is legendary. He’s arguably the best in NFL history.

So that is why it is stunning when he misses a field goal, let alone two in one game.

Al Michaels put the jinx on the Baltimore Ravens’ kicker in the AFC Divisional round game with the Buffalo Bills on Saturday.

Sure enough, doink!

And lightning never strikes twice, right? Well, it did on this January night in Buffalo because Tucker connected with another upright on his second field-goal try.

One more and he will have a doink hat trick.
