How to watch, stream Cowboys on 2021 Hard Knocks and what to watch for

Here’s your handy guide to prepare for Tuesday’s premiere episode. From how to watch (or stream) to what one should expect the producers to focus on. The Cowboys certainly aren’t short on storylines. | From @KDDrummondNFL

The day has finally arrived. On Tuesday night, the Dallas Cowboys first several weeks of what they’ve been working on in Oxnard, CA will be televised for the world to see. HBO’s Hard Knocks has been in the building — buildings, practice fields, hotel rooms and all — documenting almost every step, every speech, every study session.

Of course, fans are going to get a curated version of events, chopped and screwed to create drama of course. The Cowboys are walking drama magnets so of course the entire football world as well as other interested on lookers will be tuned in to get a glimpse of things. Cowboys players and coaches will be watching to see how they are represented, including prized first-round rookie linebacker Micah Parsons. “I’m looking forward to it. I got to make sure it’s all good stuff over there, or my home girl Shannon and I are going to have a talk,” Parsons said playfully on Monday.

“I mean, it’s been extremely helpful,” Parsons quipped about having a fellow Penn State alum working on the project for the team. “She gives me a heads up on things I might like or things I might not like. That’s kind of one of the big reasons I went to Penn State, the big alumni, able to connect with people like Shannon and all of the people on the staff who are from Penn State. So, it’s been pretty sweet.”

How did Cowboys’ schedule release video compare to other NFL teams?

The 2021 NFL schedule has released and every team released their promo video. Where does the Cowboys’ video stack up against the rest?

Every year, the NFL schedule release always brings some fun and exciting content in the form of promotional videos for every team. Dallas is no slouch in that conversation this year, pairing with platinum-selling artist and Cowboys fan Post Malone this year to make a short video where Jerry Jones is throwing out tickets like it’s money with the pop music star.

The video also made sure to have some advertisements in it as well, flashing the SeatGeek logo a few times to make sure fans know where to buy their Cowboys tickets. With such a big celebrity in the video, where does it stack up compared to the rest of the NFL?

Some teams included Hall of Famers, some made fun of their opponents for 2021. Watch all of the videos and decide if Dallas had the best promo.

Cowboys’ Parsons has best defensive ROY odds, two teammates in top 25

Micah Parsons is leading the way in rookie of the year conversations.

The media draft community is widely panning the Dallas Cowboys for their overall haul in the 2021 NFL draft. The Athletic’s Arif Hassan compiled a Consensus Big Board that grouped together the thoughts of 70 different draft pundits and ranked the Cowboys’ draft 28th of 32 teams in respect to the amount of draft capital they entered the weekend with. A twitter  user compiled draft grades from 18 different outlets and Dallas ranked 27th.

Want to know who is impressed with what Dallas did? The sportsbooks. Bet MGM released their odds for offensive and defensive rookies of the year and look who is at the top of the list? Cowboys first-round pick, 12th overall and the third defender selected Micah Parsons shows up with +500 odds, well ahead of Cleveland linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koromoah (+800).

Their fascination with the Cowboys doesn’t end there, however. Two more Cowboys are on the list.

LSU linebacker Jabril Cox shows up slightly lower on the list with +3500 odds. That ties him with five other players for 16th-best odds. Not bad at all for the 115th overall selection. He actually has better odds than the Cowboys’ second-round pick, Kentucky CB Kelvin Joseph. Taken No. 44 overall, Joseph has +5000 odds, tying him with four other players for 23rd-best odds.

In fact, that’s not the last Cowboys player on the list.

Defensive lineman from UCLA Osa Odighizuwa checks in with the final group to get odds of +10000. There are 30 of those guys, but to paraphrase Lloyd Christmas, we’re telling you there’s a chance.

Check out the full table of odds here.

Cowboys prime candidate for summer starring in HBO’s Hard Knocks

The Dallas Cowboys are a prime candidate to host next season of HBO’s Hard Knocks.

Every year football fans get a behind-the-scenes look at one NFL franchise’s training camp through HBO’s television series, Hard Knocks. Longtime fans of the Dallas Cowboys should remember as the club was the focus of the show in two of the first four seasons of the program, both in 2002 and 2008.

The NFL certainly understands the draw that the Cowboys are in the national media, and the attention a Dallas Hard Knocks could garner. During the annual NFL Fall Meetings in 2013 the league revised the selection process, and under the new approach, the Dallas Cowboys are one of the most likely clubs to host the hit show in 2021.

The Cowboys have no shortage of storylines in the upcoming offseason; Dak Prescott’s injury recovery and looming contract extension, Mike McCarthy’s first real training camp with the club, and the pressure on this talented roster to have a bounce back season, are just to name a few.

Any team may volunteer to participate, but if none do, a team that meets the updated criteria will be chosen, and the Cowboys are one of only a few teams that would be entered in the pool.

The criteria is as follow:

Teams can be exempt from hosting the show if they…

  1. Have a first-year head coach
  2. Have made the playoffs in at least one of the previous two seasons
  3. Have hosted Hard Knocks in the last 10 years

Based on those benchmarks, if no franchise volunteers, the Cowboys would be joined by the Giants, Cardinals, Panthers, and Broncos as the potential centerpiece of the production.

Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott invests in gaming community platform

Ezekiel Elliott partnered with other NFL and NBA stars to support eFuse, a social media for video gamers to show their skills.

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is dead serious about playing games. The Ohio State star and two-time rushing champion craves competition on the field and off of it, and he has a history of streaming video games, specifically on Twitch. Now he has a stake in the process.

The company eFuse, “Linked-In For Gamers”, gained over 500,000 new members in 2020 and were welcomed with a $6 million dollar pledge from NFL and NBA players Odell Beckham Jr, Chase Winovich, Denzel Ward, Seth Curry, and Elliott, who announced his investment via his Instagram story.

This donation will allow the company to improve its platform and give more gamers an opportunity to show their skills and possibly find their way into scholarships and professional opportunities.

In the ever-growing gaming industry, this investment from Elliott will be important in helping the company reach more up-and-coming streamers. During the 2020, Elliott was amongst a large group of athletes who were streaming video games including JuJu Smith-Schuster and Kyle Long.

Poll: Do Cowboys fans like other Cowboys fans?

I tend to like the ones I know. – nulla iustitia enim una, nec iustitiae ullus (@Bill_In_DC) January 19, 2021 Not everyone likes their co-workers. Not everyone gets along with their family members. But when there’s one particular thing that unifies …

Not everyone likes their co-workers. Not everyone gets along with their family members. But when there’s one particular thing that unifies a group of people, surely they’ll all get along.

Right? Not so fast, my quote-unquote friend. Based on this extremely (not-at-all) scientific and universal (minute sample size) Twitter poll that is beyond reproach, I’ve collected a lot of data that shows surprisingly, Cowboys fans don’t really seem to like each other. Fandom is not a monolith and because the Cowboys are such a national brand, they bring about a wide array of fans that have different rooting levels.

These results will probably show up across a majority of fanbases, and perhaps Twitter users are more cynical than on other platforms such as Facebook or an actual cross-sampling poll, but one thing is for sure. When other fanbases complain how much they dislike Cowboys fans, the Cowboys fan they’re telling that to? Probably agrees.

There’s still some time to fill out the poll for yourselves.
