Social media reacts to another ridiculous touchdown catch by Marvin Harrison Jr. #GoBucks
The Ohio State football team has gotten off to slow starts more often than not this season, but not tonight. The Buckeyes have had three offensive possessions and promptly scored three touchdowns to lead Michigan State 21-0.
The first TD came courtesy of Marvin Harrison Jr. via his legs on an end around. The second was the more conventional Harrison score … an acrobatic catch in the corner of the endzone.
The OSU communications department officially started the Heisman campaign for Marv after last week’s win over Rutgers, and Harrison Jr. is giving voters more reason to consider the Buckeye receiver.
Social media has some thoughts on No. 18 as well. Let’s take a look.
Social media reacts to Marvin Harrison Jr.’s rushing touchdown vs. Michigan State
The Ohio State football team looks like it has finally started fast, taking the ball down and scoring on its first drive against the Michigan State Spartans and are leading, 7-0.
The scoring play was a rushing touchdown by the one and only Marvin Harrison Jr. He scampered for a 19-yard rush, which is interesting considering those kinds of gadget plays are called with Xavier Johnson in mind. With Johnson looking slightly hobbled after a carry earlier, that may have opened the door for an opportunity for Harrison to show off his skills and speed as a ball carrier.
It was a fast start, and the kind of one head coach Ryan Day has been pining for. How did social media react to the touchdown? Well, we’re glad you asked because we have some of the best of them for you.
Our staff predicts the outcome and score of Ohio State vs. Michigan State. #GoBucks
Sit up Ohio State football fans because it’s another Scarlet and Gray game day. The Buckeyes return home after a couple of journeys on the road to host a Michigan State team that has had a difficult 2023 campaign. The Spartans finally got their first Big Ten win of the year last week against Nebraska to end a six-game slide.
But this week is a different animal. Michigan State must try to bottle up that momentum and put up a fight against the No. 1 ranked team in the College Football Playoff rankings — at its place. OSU hasn’t had the dynamic offenses it has in year’s past, but the defense has been one of the best in all of college football.
We like to provide a lot of analysis and commentary leading up to each game for the Buckeyes and it’s time for our writers to put it on the line again for this week’s game.
Here is what each of our five writers predict for the game between Ohio State and Michigan State on Saturday night.
Here’s how to find and watch the game between Ohio State and Rutgers Saturday. #GoBucks
The Ohio State football team returns to the ‘Shoe to host a Michigan State team that’s trying to finish the season with some sort of pride. The Spartans have had a challenging year on and off the field and have just one win in Big Ten play.
However, that win came last week against a Nebraska team that’s been playing pretty well. Can the Spartans put up a fight in Columbus against the No. 1 team in the College Football Playoff rankings? It’ll be an uphill climb, but that’s why they play the games.
If you landed here, there’s a good chance you are an OSU fan looking for information on how to find the game and tune in, and if so, you’re in luck because that’s exactly what we have for you, including some key players to watch.
TreVeyon Henderson, Running Back – The Ohio State dynamic running back is a difference maker for this offense. Sure, we are looking for Kyle McCord to show us he is making strides as we head to the Michigan game, but Henderson gives the Buckeyes the balance they need to be able to operate in other area, plus he provides that home run ability in the ground game.
2023 stats
90 carries for 585 yards (6.5 avg.), 7 TDs
12 receptions for 170 yards (14.2 avg.)
Michigan State
Nathan Carter, Running Back – From one back to another, the Michigan State back has to be able to get some yards on first and second down to not put a young quarterback in obvious passing situations against one of the best defenses in the country. He hasn’t taken over games too often in 2023, but the Spartans will need him to in this one.
2023 stats
156 carries for 659 yards (4.2 avg.), 4 TDs
19 receptions for 98 yards (5.2 avg.)

It is remarkable the job that Lance Leipold has done at Kansas. Since he took over the program, the Jayhawks have completely turned the program around. KU is currently 7-2 (4-2) through nine games this year and qualified for the postseason for the second straight year. That hasn’t happened since 2008.
As has been the case with any successful coach, speculation and rumors swirl about their future. Leipold was a coach, whose name was thrown about last year during the coaching carousel. The regular season will come to an end in three weeks as the carousel begins to spin once again.
Could Leipold be on the short list of names that Michigan State wants to replace Mel Tucker, who they fired earlier this season? The Kansas head coach addressed those rumors revolving around his meeting with the Spartans.
“This is the only interview [I’ve done today], and that’s the way it’s going to be.”
“The one thing that happens during this time of year is there’s a lot of speculation on things that are happening that are not accurate, as I’ve said for a long time, Travis Goff and Chancellor Girod have treated Kelly and I extremely well and our family.”
“It is our plan and expectation that we want to be here and this is going to be the last job we have.”
We have heard plenty of head coaches deny these rumors in the past, only to leave a week or two later. At this time, Leipold hasn’t given any reason to not take him at his word.
In case you missed it – Watch and hear what Michigan State interim coach Harlon Barnett said about Ohio State in previewing the matchup Saturday.
It’s Game 10 for Ohio State and the Buckeyes look to remain undefeated when they host a Michigan State team that’s having a rough year both on and off the field. OSU would like to continue its winning ways and run its record to 10-0 and on pace for a massive game at the end of the year, but it has to remain focused, even against a team that is a huge underdog according to the wise guys in Vegas (and everyone else).
We like to keep tabs on what the opposing coach says about Ohio State leading up each game, and it’s no different on the doorstep of this one. The Spartans have an interim coach, but one familiar with playing, and beating the Buckeyes, in the person of Harlon Barnett.
He appeared in front of the media earlier this week to discuss what he sees from Ohio State as his team prepares to head to Columbus. We’ve got the entire press conference in case you missed anything he said thanks to the Spartan Mag YouTube channel.
During his time at the podium, Barnett discussed the challenge of hitting the road against the Buckeyes, the talent of Marvin Harrison Jr., his team’s mentality of attacking going on the road, and more.
Stay with us as we continue to provide coverage leading up to, during, and after the game on Saturday.
In case you missed what Ryan Day said in previewing the matchup with Michigan State.
The Ohio State football team is set to put its undefeated record on the line when it hosts Michigan State on Saturday at noon ET. The Buckeyes are just two games away from the potential of a titanic clash with Michigan on Nov. 25, but it has to make sure it stays focused over the next couple of games first.
The Spartans aren’t having the type of season you put in a capsule to remember later, sitting at just 3-6 overall and 1-5 in the Big Ten. However, OSU head coach Ryan Day knows his team can’t lose focus and take any team lightly. He met with the media this week to talk about where is team is physically, psychologically, and emotionally, and what he sees in previewing Michigan State.
If you missed anything Day said, you can catch up with his remarks here thanks to video provided by the Ohio State Department of Athletics.
Stay with us in the lead up to the game, during all of the action Saturday, and after for reaction and analysis.

It’s a massive line for Ohio State over Michigan State.
The Ohio State football team is headed back home after a couple of physical tests on the road vs. Wisconsin and Rutgers. The team that will meet the Buckeyes there is a Michigan State team that’s having a season to forget.
Not only are there some off the field things the school is trying to move on from, but the on-field product hasn’t been very good either. The Spartans sit at 3-6 overall and just 1-5 in the Big Ten, good for last place in the East division.
Meanwhile, Ohio State is still undefeated and looking to keep things on track for a massive clash with Michigan on November 25 that could have championship aspirations on the line.
You can understand then why Ohio State is favored by so much as we check in on the odds for the game on Saturday. According to BetMGM, the Buckeyes are a whopping 31.5 point favorite over the Green and White. And while that seems like a very large margin, it makes sense based on how teams are playing.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on the odds as we get closer and closer to kickoff Saturday night in the ‘Shoe. If the line moves significantly either way, we’ll bring it to you.

No. 12 Michigan State knocks off No. 13 Ohio State in game two, sweeps the Buckeyes
A week after the Spartans went to Massachusetts for a battle with No. 3 Boston College, that the Spartans unfortunately got swept in albeit played competitively, MSU traveled to Ohio State for their Big Ten opener against the Buckeyes.
After defeating the Buckeyes in the first game of the series on Friday, 6-0, the Spartans came back on Saturday to complete the sweep, defeating OSU, 6-4.
The game winning goal came from Tanner Kelly with 5:58 remaining in the game. Defenseman Nash Nienhuis added an empty net goal to seal the deal for Michigan State.
Isaac Howard, Patrick Geary and Gavin O’Connell (x2) also picked up tallies for the Spartans.
