Lamar Jackson throws MVP-caliber TD to Mark Andrews vs. Browns

Lamar Jackson worked some magic to bring the Ravens to 14-6 at the end of the half, connecting with TE Mark Andrews on a perfect pass.

After a slow start, the Baltimore Ravens offense was able to shake off the rust.

After scoring on a two-play, 32-second drive to get the lead, Baltimore’s defense answered the call to force the Cleveland Browns to a three-and-out. With little more than a minute remaining in the game and no timeouts, quarterback Lamar Jackson and the Ravens’ offense weren’t going to be denied.

Marching down the field, Jackson fought off would-be-tacklers to connect with tight end Mark Andrews for his second touchdown of the game.

It was an MVP-caliber throw from Jackson, putting the ball in the spot where only Andrews could catch it in spite of defenders breathing down his neck. It’s proof of ascension from Jackson this season as a passer and the perfect highlight to prove why he’s the MVP frontrunner.

As has been the case all game long, it also hit another big milestone for Jackson. He’s now tied with Cam Newton and Steve Young as the only quarterbacks to ever throw 35 touchdown passes and run for seven more touchdowns. It’s worth noting both those quarterbacks won the NFL’s MVP that season and went to the Super Bowl.

Lamar Jackson highlight: Jackson sets new Ravens record for TD passes

Lamar Jackson’s 39-yard strike to Mark Andrews set a new Ravens single-season record for touchdown passes.

In a season full of highlights and displays of individual brilliance, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson set a new team record in the second quarter against the Cleveland Browns.

With his 39-yard strike to tight end Mark Andrews that gave the Ravens the lead over the Browns, Jackson now has 34 touchdown passes on the season (he threw his 35th right before halftime). This score breaks the tie for the previous single-season best for the Ravens shared by Jackson and Vinny Testaverde. Testaverde threw his 33 touchdowns back in 1996, the first year the Ravens played in the NFL.

With another touchdown throw right before halftime, Jackson now has an incredible 42 total touchdowns in 2019, with seven on the ground to go with his 35 through the air. What a special campaign this has been for the MVP front runner, and everyone else associated with the Ravens. But the Ravens still need more from him, with just a one-point lead with halftime looming.

Ravens vs. Browns score: Live blog and instant analysis

Keep it tuned here to see the Ravens score along with instant analysis of each scoring drive as they happen in Week 16 against the Browns.

The Baltimore Ravens wrap up their season with two games against AFC North rivals — the first against the Cleveland Browns in Week 16.

Both the Ravens and Browns have been headed in different directions this season. Cleveland earned lots of preseason praise for a roster that looked unstoppable but have managed to stumble to a 6-8 record and a 10th consecutive season without a playoff berth. Baltimore, on the other hand, has won 10 straight games and look to be en route to a No. 1 seed in the AFC playoff picture.

This game matters to both teams greatly. For the Ravens, it’s their chance to clinch the top seed and potentially rest starters in Week 17. For the Browns, it’s a chance to not have a losing season and sweep the best team in the division — two consolation prizes in a lost season.

This game should be chippy and full of attitude. For true football fans, you’ll want your television locked on to this matchup. But if you’re unable to watch or want to know what’s happening a little closer, we’ll be providing up-to-date scores and instant analysis of each scoring drive below.

Joe Mixon battling stomach bug before game vs. Dolphins

Joe Mixon isn’t 100 percent for Sunday.

It turns out Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon is battling an illness as his team gets ready to take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 16.

Those Bengals center the entire offense around Mixon, who in the last two weeks alone has rushed for at least 130 yards in both showings. From the sounds of it, he could end up having a limited role against the three-win Dolphins.

Elsewhere in the inactives, John Miller and A.J. Green are the notables out. Based on the sheet, a run-based approach seems to be in order like it was a week ago.

That approach could miss Mixon while the Bengals play with much at stake in draft positioning.

The Baltimore Ravens couldn’t have been any healthier coming into Week 16 against the Cleveland Browns. Though a few key players wound up on the injury report this week, all were for non-injury reasons (likely veteran days off).

Baltimore’s inactive reflects their great health, seeing all seven players listed considered a “healthy scratch.” That means the Ravens will have everyone they wanted active against the Browns as they look to make it 11 straight wins.

3 keys to a Titans victory vs. Saints

Here are three things the Titans must accomplish to get the win on Sunday.

The Tennessee Titans (8-6) desperately need to bounce back after a 24-21 loss to the Houston Texans last week to help keep their playoff hopes alive.

The New Orleans Saints (11-3) will make that no easy task as they travel to Nissan Stadium on Sunday, as both Drew Brees and Michael Thomas have a chance for a record-breaking day against Tennnessee.

Here are three things the Titans must accomplish to get the win on Sunday.

1. Keep QB Drew Brees from getting hot.

Coming off a record-breaking performance, Brees has the chance to make history yet again for most consecutive completions if he completes his first four passes against the Titans.

The Titans are up against one of the most talented quarterbacks in football history on Sunday, and keeping him from getting comfortable will make all the difference in disrupting a strong passing attack.

Ravens vs. Browns Week 16: Time, TV channel and how to stream online

Here’s how to watch the Baltimore Ravens vs. Cleveland Browns in Week 16, with date, time, TV channel and NFL stream info

The Baltimore Ravens’ regular season is nearly over but they have a little unfinished business to get down to this week. Taking on the Cleveland Browns, the Ravens get the right a wrong and take down the last team to beat them this season while propelling themselves to the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoff picture. But as always, it’s up to Baltimore to handle their business.

While the Browns might not have lived up to their expectations, they’re still a dangerous team that would love to spoil the Ravens’ good time and pick up a rare sweep of the series. The talent Cleveland has on their roster and the emotional aspect of this game will be enough to make the Browns a tough opponent to beat.

Will Bengals harm draft positioning with win over Dolphins?

Can the Bengals beat the Dolphins?

What originally looked like a tank bowl between the Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins in Week 16 still holds some semblance of big draft implications for both teams.

Morso for the Bengals, a franchise that can secure the top pick in the 2020 NFL draft with a loss. The Dolphins are one of a handful of three-win teams that remain in the running for a top pick too.

On the field, the struggling Bengals lean solely on Joe Mixon (925 yards, three touchdowns, 4.0 average) and his recent resurgence to spark the offense. Whether it’s a combination of lacking weapons or something else, Andy Dalton has struggled mightily, throwing pick-sixes in consecutive games and four alone in last week’s loss to New England.

Which isn’t to suggest Miami has been much better offensively, having failed to score more than 24 points in four of their last five. The ground game only averages 3.4 yards and Ryan Fitzpatrick isn’t lighting it up statistically.

This one might come down to which defense can make a play by exploiting the opposing offense. Cincinnati’s pass rush has been improved in recent weeks and Jessie Bates has flashed more in the turnover department. Similar story for Miami, which forced three turnovers in its last outing. One problem — both of these teams still lost.

That seems to be the story for both franchises this year, even if the Bengals stood pat at the trade deadline and wanted to win games while Miami sold off a handful of its top talent.

This makes it one of the toughest games of the year to predict, especially when factoring in it being late in the season. But it is hard to ignore the Dolphins coughing up north of 30 points per game on average. A big Mixon day and the rejuvenated pass rush forms a tandem capable of squeaking out a few more game-changing plays.

While it isn’t what some focused on draft positioning want to hear, the Bengals have the right mixture of strengths right now to pull off an upset.

Prediction: Bengals 24, Dolphins 20

Bengals vs. Dolphins: Viewing info and odds for Week 16

Here’s streaming info for Bengals vs. Dolphins.

The Cincinnati Bengals play their final road game of the season Sunday during an encounter against the Miami Dolphins.

Those Bengals can clinch the top pick in the 2020 draft with a loss. But despite the implications there the team will otherwise be trying to pick up win No. 2 on the season.

The three-win Dolphins would like to put more marks in the win column too, though could have some problems thanks to a struggling defense.

Here’s viewing info for Sunday’s game.
