Browns safety Juan Thornhill exits Ravens game with calf injury

Cleveland Browns safety Juan Thornhill left the Ravens game with a calf injury.

Cleveland Browns safety Juan Thornhill exited Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens at the start of the third quarter.

Thornhill was injured after making a touchdown-saving tackle against Ravens receiver Zay Flowers. Thornhill was quickly rushed to the medical tent while Flowers limped off the field. Thornhill is currently in the locker room with a calf injury. He is questionable to return.

Thornhill was a key addition to the defense this offseason. The safety has helped lead the Browns’ defense to a historically great start. Cleveland needs Thornhill back. The defense gave up a long touchdown pass to former Browns and current Ravens receiver Odell Beckham Jr. immediately after he exited the game.

The Browns have replaced Thornhill with Rodney McLeod Jr., another veteran leader. Cleveland’s defense needs to play much better as the defensive backfield has suffered multiple injuries during the Ravens game.

Cornerback Denzel Ward was previously ruled out with a neck injury he sustained during the first quarter.

Browns CB Denzel Ward questionable to return vs. Ravens with neck injury

Cleveland Browns CB Denzel Ward is questionable to return with a neck injury vs. Ravens.

Cleveland Browns star cornerback Denzel Ward exited Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens in the first half.

Ward went to the locker room after the Ravens’ second drive of the game. The cornerback was evaluated for a concussion. Ward briefly stepped into the medical tent as Baltimore kicked a field goal to take a 17-3 lead.

Ward has suffered multiple concussions throughout his professional career. He was last diagnosed with a concussion in August before the season started. Ward’s history of concussions is extremely worrisome and has provoked a lot of dialogue among the fan base. The cornerback’s long-term health as a human being is paramount to a football career.

Shortly after publication, Ward cleared concussion protocol. But it was announced that Ward suffered a neck injury, and his return is officially questionable.

The Browns have moved former first-round pick Greg Newsome II from the slot to the outside to replace Ward. The Browns’ cornerback room has suffered several injuries between Newsome, Ward, and rookie cornerback Cam Mitchell.  The team will need all of them healthy to stop an explosive Ravens’ passing game.

Ravens well-balanced offense too much for Browns

In case you missed it, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson totaled four touchdowns for the Ravens vs.the Browns today.

Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken has quarterback Lamar Jackson rejuvenated. All week long NFL analysts raved on how the Cleveland Browns defense was too much for Baltimore, yet today’s final score affirms the very opposite.

In case you missed it, Jackson totaled four touchdowns for the Ravens vs. Cleveland today.

Twice Jackson used his arm and twice Monken schemed Jackson on zone run concepts that got him into the end zone. Jackson connected with seven different receivers on just 15 total completions – a clear sign that Monken’s scheme is made to optimize the offense.

Ultimately, the diverse yet cohesive play concepts Monken is using are the reason for offensive success. Below are illustrations of a few concepts from week 3 we saw relived Sunday afternoon. The Ravens now lead the AFC North division with a 3-1 season record.

Browns force huge fumble as Ravens were driving

The Browns get a massive turnover!

Just in the nick of time. As the Baltimore Ravens had driven the football into plus territory, the Cleveland Browns forced a much-needed and massive turnover. Quarterback Lamar Jackson and running back Justice Hill mucked up a handoff, putting the ball on the turf, as defensive tackle Maurice Hurst was more than happy to jump on it. With starting quarterback Deshaun Watson out, the defense is going to continue to be relied on.

Outside of a one-play drive off of a Dorian Thompson-Robinson interception, the Jim Schwartz-led defense has been as advertised once again in today’s matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. The pressure has been constant as the game currently sits at 7-3 in Baltimore’s favor.

Can the Thompson-Robinson-led offense scrounge some points together on the scoreboard to help them out? It has been tough sledding for that side of the football thus far, but there is still well over two quarters of play to go in this one for the rookie and the offense to get this figured out.

Ravens vs. Browns: How to watch this AFC North Week 4 slugfest

The Ravens and Browns are set to lock horns in Cleveland. Here is all the information needed for today’s game.

Can the Cleveland Browns advance to 3-1 on the season today as they take on Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens? That is the task at hand as they get set to enter their bye week after this Week 4 clash with their AFC North rival. A win here would also mean advancing to 2-1 in the division as the Browns are hunting to get back into the playoffs for the first time since 2020.

The Ravens enter this matchup extremely banged up, missing their top two receivers, two of their defensive ends, likely without their starting left tackle, and many more. The Browns are dealing with a couple of injuries, including the last-second add of tight end David Njoku after he suffered burns to his face and arms during a fire pit accident at his home on Friday night.

Do you need to know how to watch, listen, and stream this game? Do you need to know the betting lines, what the weather will look like, and more? No worries! We have you covered here.

Browns: QB Deshaun Watson expected to start vs. Ravens despite cautious week

Despite a limited week, QB1 is expected to start.

The Cleveland Browns finally found some success through air a week ago in their win against the Tennessee Titans. This week, however, quarterback Deshaun Watson Deshaun Watson has been nursing a sore shoulder that has held him to limited action during practice. He has officially been listed as questionable for this Week 4 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. However, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, Watson is expected to start today’s game.

In preparation for this week’s action, Russini tweeted this out about the starting quarterback in Cleveland:

“The Browns are concerned about Deshaun Watson’s right shoulder contusion and were cautious with him all week, according to a team source. But even though he is not 100 percent, he is expected to start against the Ravens barring a Sunday morning setback.”

Rookie fifth round pick Dorian Thompson-Robinson will be ready to go just in case, and the Browns elevated veteran quarterback PJ Walker from the practice squad in case of emergency.

5 things to watch as Browns and Ravens get set to lock horns

What should we be watching closely in Sunday’s matchup between the Browns and Ravens?

For the third time in four weeks, we have another AFC North slugfest taking place at First Energy Stadium on Sunday. The Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens are both 2-1 entering this Week 4 matchup looking to notch another divisional win under their belt as well. The Browns have turned to Elijah Moore a great deal since the injury of running back Nick Chubb, and the Ravens will continue to allow quarterback Lamar Jackson to make plays with the football in his hands.

The Browns look to advance to 3-1 for the first time in awhile as they head into their bye week next week. They will then take on the high-flying San Francisco 49ers coming out of the bye week. Getting a win this week against the Ravens will go a long way in boosting confidence and morale in Berea as they have an opportunity to further their stance as a Super Bowl contender.

Without overlooking the Ravens (that would be a foolish thing to do), however, here are five things to watch in this AFC North showdown.

We get snap counts after every game, so what stood from this game against the Ravens?

Like we do every week, we take a look at the snap count numbers to see what stands out.

As always, thanks to our friends over at The OBR for providing excellent visuals to accompany the snap count numbers. As the Browns get ready to take on the New Orleans Saints on Christmas Eve, what stood out from Saturday’s snap count numbers, and what may translate over the next three games?

WR Amari Cooper eclipses career milestone in win vs. Ravens

Amari Cooper reached a massive career milestone in the win over the Ravens!

Getting the win at home against a divisional rival was not the only milestone worth mentioning from Saturday’s victory over the Baltimore Ravens. For a certain wide receiver on the Cleveland Browns, a career milestone was met as well as Amari Cooper has eclipsed the 8,000 receiving yards mark in his career as well.

While Cooper only went for 58 yards on four catches on the day, a game that included just four fourth quarter passes as Nick Chubb ground out the clock, he now sits with 8,008 career yards receiving throughout his nine-year career with the Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, and Browns.

With three games to go, Cooper sits just 68 yards from his fifth career 1,000-yard season as well.
