Malachi Corley of Jets drops football before goal line resulting in touchback for Texans

Malachi Corley with a huge mistake in the Texans-Jets game

When will they learn?

Add Malachi Corley of the New York Jets to the list of players who decided to celebrate before crossing the goal line.

In the second quarter of Thursday’s game with the Houston Texans, Corley took the ball from Aaron Rodgers and sauntered to paydirt.

The problem was he decided to get cocky and drop the football as he neared the goal line.

The play was called a touchdown on the field  but upon review, vidthe eo showed Corley had dropped the ball before scoring.

The football made its way out of the back of the end zone and instead of the Jets having six points and the lead, the Texans had the football thanks to a touchback.

Corley had one reception for four yards entering the game. Don’t blame the coaching staff for failing to teach him to hold on to the football until you score.

A gaffe.

Jets coach Jeff Ulbrich fumbles challenge flag, allowing Aaron Rodgers to throw TD pass

The Jets wound up with a touchdown and two-point conversion in a strange series of events

Things may finally be going the way of the New York Jets. At least for one play on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers they did.

Interim coach Jeff Ulbrich was trying to challenge the previous play. As he went to throw the red challenge flag, it dropped. Call it a fumble.

Because Ulbrich lost control of the flag, Aaron Rodgers went ahead with the play and threw a TD pass to Tyler Conklin.

On the ensuing PAT, Minkah Fitzpatrick was called for leverage, and Ulbrich decided to go for two.

It worked, also, as Rodgers connected with Garrett Wilson to give the Jets a 15-6 lead in the second quarter.

Haason Reddick will finally report to New York Jets

Haason Reddick is ending his hold from the New York Jets

The switch to Drew Rosenhaus as the agent for holdout Haason Reddick has worked for both the player and New York Jets.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Sunday that Reddick will report to the Jets on Monday.

The millions of dollars in fines Reddick has incurred during the holdout are being waived.

The Jets will be without Reddick on Sunday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. They will have newly acquired WR Davante Adams in the lineup.

Jets adding WR Davante Adams in trade with Raiders

Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams will be reunited with the Jets

Another day, another prayer answered for Aaron Rodgers.

Monday night, former Green Bay teammate Allen Lazard caught a Hail Mary pass at the end of the first half if the New York Jets’ loss to the Buffalo Bills.

On Tuesday, the team added another former Packer receiver, acquiring Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Per ESPN.com:

The Las Vegas Raiders will receive a conditional third-round draft pick that could improve to a second-round selection, sources told Schefter. For the pick to improve to a second-rounder, Adams must be a first- or second-team All-Pro this season or be on the Jets’ active roster for the AFC Championship Game or Super Bowl, the sources said.

Adams flew into the Big Apple overnight and needed to pass a physical for the trade to be official. He has missed multiple Raiders games due to a tender hamstring.

From 2014 to 2021, Rodgers and Adams combined for 615 completions, 7,529 yards and 68 touchdowns.

Once he unloaded there were a group of players in the end zone and Allen Lazard, Rodgers’ former teammate in Green Bay, somehow came down with the ball.

Lazard got great position in front of everyone and managed to block out the Bills’ secondary players trying to knock down or intercept the throw.

The play was good for 52 yards and after the PAT, the Jets trailed 20-17.
