WATCH: Alvin Kamara scores two first-half touchdowns vs. Raiders

WATCH: Alvin Kamara finds the endzone for the first time this season with two first-half touchdowns vs. Raiders, via @DillySanders:

After a long tedious week of trade rumors, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara came to work angry with a point to prove against the Las Vegas Raiders. He entered the game with no touchdowns on the season and left the first half with two big rushing scores.

His first capped off the Saints second drive of the day, with a 3-yard run at the goal line to give New Orleans a 7-0 lead. His second touchdown was an extremely strong run after a catch where he was able to showcase his balance through contact, catching a 2-yard checkdown and then ricocheting off of several Raiders defenders for 14 more yards. He scored by extending his arm out and reaching the goal line after the 16-yard pickup. The Saints went up 17-0 after the score, giving them a much-needed lead near halftime.

What’s more, NFL Research found that Kamara is the first player in league history to record 10 games with at least 1 rushing and 1 receiving touchdown in his first six seasons. He’s a record-setter, and he isn’t finished yet. He needs just two more touchdowns to tie the franchise record Marques Colston set in black and gold (scoring 72 career touchdowns). It’s good to see Kamara end his scoring drought, and if he keeps this up he’ll surpass Colston with quickness.

WATCH: Pete Werner deflects a pass, Tyrann Mathieu intercepts it vs. Raiders

Bang. There’s the spark the New Orleans Saints needed. Linebacker Pete Werner broke up a pass against the Las Vegas Raiders at midfield, which was intercepted by veteran safety Tyrann Mathieu. It was the second interception of the year for Mathieu, and for the Saints defense as a whole. And it was badly needed with the Raiders offense on the move.

Mathieu has experienced some highs and lows in his first year as a Saint — earlier in the game he tried to tackle Raiders running back Josh Jacobs at the Las Vegas 37-yard line, only to get drug for 9 yards after contact — but he has been their most consistent source of turnovers. He’s still finding ways to make plays.

But Werner deserves a lot of credit here. He read the play design and dropped back in coverage far enough to get in front of Raiders wideout Hunter Renfrow, giving him a shot at breaking up the pass. His pass deflection created that opportunity for Mathieu to take the ball away. Werner has been one of the best players on the team this season, and his second-year surge has been impressive to watch. Here’s to more big plays from Nos. 20 and 32.

WATCH: Bucs block Justin Tucker’s 61-yard FG attempt

Bucs defensive lineman Pat O’Connor denied the NFL’s most automatic kicker just before the half Thursday night

The most automatic kicker in NFL history tried to add another 60-plus-yarder to his record Thursday night, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just wouldn’t allow it.

Justin Tucker attempted a 61-yarder on the final play of the first half, but Bucs defensive lineman Pat O’Connor blocked it, preserving a 10-3 lead for Tampa Bay as they headed to the locker room.

The Ravens have only managed a field goal off a muffed punt inside the Bucs’ own 10-yard line, as Tampa Bay’s defense has clamped down, and their special teams units came to play, too.

Now, let’s see if the offense can match it in the second half.

Watch Shaq Barrett break out Ray Lewis’ iconic celebration after sacking Lamar Jackson

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ pass rush is getting after Lamar Jackson, and they’re making the most of their opportunities to celebrate afterward.

Vita Vea went swimming after his big first-quarter sack of Jackson, and Shaq Barrett took things to another level in the second quarter, breaking out the iconic pregame dance of legendary Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis.

It’s still early, but the Tampa Bay defense is doing an impressive job of holding Jackson and the Baltimore offense in check so far.

Watch Tampa Bay Buccaneers nose tackle Vita Vea take down Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson for a huge sack

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have startled awake on both sides of the ball to start Thursday night’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

After building a 10-3 lead by scoring on both of their opening possessions, the Bucs closed out the first quarter with nose tackle Vita Vea swallowing up Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson for a 13-yard loss.

This is the best the Bucs have looked all season, but they’ve still got three quarters to go.

WATCH: Bucs RB Leonard Fournette trucks through Ravens defense for opening TD

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have an early lead over the Baltimore Ravens, courtesy of Leonard Fournette

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have found the end zone for the first time in what feels like forever, courtesy of running back Leonard Fournette.

Fournette finished off an impressive opening drive for the Tampa Bay offense, trucking his way into the end zone for the short-yardage score.

A big completion from Tom Brady to Chris Godwin set the Bucs up with 1st-and-goal, while Mike Evans drew a holding call that set up the scoring run on Fournette on the very next play.

Considering the fact that the Bucs muffed a punt in the first drive of the game gave the ball back to the Ravens inside their own 10-yard line, a 7-3 lead for Tampa Bay is a huge win.

WATCH: Steelers WR George Pickens makes incredible TD catch vs. Dolphins

Watch Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver George Pickens make another awesome touchdown catch

We’re not even halfway through his rookie season, and there are plenty of NFL teams that have to be regretting the fact that they passed on wide receiver George Pickens in the 2022 draft.

Despite obvious first-round talent, Pickens fell to the middle of the second round, where the Pittsburgh Steelers wisely snatched him up. All the Georgia product has done since then is make big plays, showing off the impressive skill set that made him a dominant force in the SEC.

The latest example? This incredible touchdown catch from fellow rookie Kenny Pickett during Sunday night’s game against the Miami Dolphins:

Packers fans, Bears fans . . . don’t look.

WATCH: D’Onta Foreman, Chuba Hubbard lead Panthers to electric TD drive

In their first game without Christian McCaffrey, the Panthers got some big runs from D’Onta Foreman and Chuba Hubbard.

No Christian McCaffrey, no problem.

The Carolina Panthers just keep on bringing the surprises here in Week 7. And the latest shock of the day came courtesy of their backfield, one that’s in the very first game of the post-CMC era.

Already up 7-0 on the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers with about four minutes remaining in the third quarter, the Panthers took over at their own 23-yard line. Following an incompletion to start the possession, which almost wound up as another beautiful grab from wide receiver DJ Moore, running back D’Onta Foreman rumbled down the field for a monstrous 60-yard gain.

On the very next play, from Tampa Bay’s 17-yard line, fellow rusher Chuba Hubbard did the rest and slithered up the middle for his first touchdown run of the 2022 season. The score helped give Carolina a 14-0 lead at the 3:11 mark of the third quarter.

Ironically enough, this 77-yard scoring drive between Foreman and Hubbard came not too long after Panthers fans saw this . . .
