WATCH: Antoine Winfield Jr. forces a fumble on Desmond Ridder

Antoine Winfield continues a brilliant year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety [autotag]Antoine Winfield Jr.[/autotag] is never afraid of the moment.

The Atlanta Falcons were up 13-10 late in the fourth quarter and had the chance to seal it with a score. Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder had what looked to be the game-winning touchdown on a 12-yard scramble, but Winfield managed to peanut punch the ball out of his hands right before he crossed the plane. As the ball was a fumble and went out of the end zone, the play counted as a touchback and the Bucs were able to get the ball back.

WATCH: Bucs force a fumble on QB Desmond Ridder to close the half

The Bucs defense delivered when the Falcons were looking to score points to end the first half.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn’t get a turnover against the Lions in Week 6, but the defense managed to rectify that in Week 7.

The Falcons were set to score points at the end of the half while in field goal range, but with 17 seconds left, the Bucs defense delivered. Tampa Bay outside linebacker Shaquil Barrett and defensive tackle Calijah Kancey pincered in on Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder as he dropped back to pass, and they forced a fumble on him that was recovered by Jamel Dean. The Bucs elected to leave the half with all three timeouts, but the move prevented the Falcons from scoring and kept the game tied.

WATCH: Mike Evans catches a deep ball from Baker Mayfield for the score

Baker Mayfield found his deep ball when he hit Mike Evans for the 40-yard score:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers fell down 7-0 to the Atlanta Falcons, but they were quick to respond.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield found wideout Mike Evans for a 40-yard deep ball score. Evans matched up against A.J. Terrell, and he was able to box him out and get some acceleration to get out ahead of him and catch the deep ball for the touchdown. Mayfield’s been recently criticized for his lack of deep ball accuracy, but he put this one right on the money for Evans and it allowed the Bucs to tie up the game 7-7.

Here is the play from the Bucs that led to the score:

Saints legend Drew Brees back in town for game against Jaguars

Saints legend Drew Brees was back in town for Thursday night’s game with the Jaguars:

The New Orleans Saints are back in the Superdome for the first time in a couple of weeks, taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars, and some stars are back home to watch them play.

Saints legend and NFL legend Drew Brees was back on the sideline for the pregame and he brought his family with him. Brees is the best player in the franchise’s history and fans are hoping that his presence might transfer some energy into struggling Saints offense. It was a nice site to see the kids playing around on the field again, something they never skip an opportunity to do.

He wasn’t the only former Saints Super Bowl winner at the game, however. Cornerback Tracy Porter, who made one of the biggest plays in franchise history, was also in town to watch the game. So was Saints legend Steve Gleason and his family. It’s great to see so many important players from team history catching up and supporting the squad.

WATCH: Rashid Shaheed steals ball back from defender for a huge gain

WATCH: Rashid Shaheed steals ball back from defender for a huge gain

In what has been another disappointing day for the New Orleans Saints offense against the Houston Texans, sophomore receiver Rashid Shaheed comes through with a huge catch to flip field position.

In just his second catch of the day, Shaheed goes over the top of Steven Nelson to steal the ball out of his hands for a 51-yard gain. The play was almost an interception, instead it breathed some life into the game. Shaheed is up to 85 yards on the day after this catch and added 18-yards on the ground as well.

The Saints have been able to move the ball down the field well in this one, but have fallen apart once they get deep into Houston territory almost every time. Blake Grupe has missed two field goals in this one and New Orleans has fallen to a turnover on downs as well.

Saints snagged C.J. Stroud’s first career interception, but the Texans still scored a TD

Saints linebacker Zack Baun snagged the very first interception of C.J. Stroud’s NFL career, but things quickly took a dispiriting turn:

You can’t make this up. C.J. Stroud threw his first career interception to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, with linebacker Zack Baun snagging the pass — the first interception of his four-year NFL career. Then things got wacky.

Baun got greedy and tried to return the interception through traffic, but Texans wide receiver Noah Collins made the play of the day by ripping the ball out of Baun’s hands. Houston left guard Tytus Howard fell on it for, ironically, a gain of two yards.

That can’t happen. Defenders are coached from a young age to fall down and secure the ball when it’s in their hands. Baun made a boneheaded (Baunheaded?) mistake and it cost the team big-time. Dispirited after having that turnover taken back away from them, the Saints defense didn’t challenge Houston’s offense as Stroud quickly moved the offense downfield.

Baun isn’t the only one with dirty hands here. This drive started because rookie kicker Blake Grupe pushed a 52-yard field goal wide right of the uprights (from the left hash). The run defense fell apart on a 17-yard carry by Devin Singletary, then Marshon Lattimore was beaten by Noah Brown on a 34-yard reception, getting away with a slight push off at the start of his route. Then Tyrann Mathieu failed to compete with tight end Dalton Schultz on a too-easy touchdown pass, giving Houston an early lead.

The Saints can’t afford to let momentum swing against them in tight games like this one. They must show some backbone and pick themselves back up after getting knocked down. Letting too many negative plays pile up like this is a recipe for disaster.

Here’s something nice to watch with your morning cup of coffee. The New Orleans Saints shared a highlight reel compiling all of Alvin Kamara’s record-breaking 73 touchdowns, which you can find in the video embedded below (you can also find it here on YouTube for a full-screen experience).

No. 41 has done it all. Kamara has hit the end zone as a runner (50 times), as a receiver (22 times), and even as a kick returner (once), all of which are chronicled in the ten-minute video. Shouts out to the Saints video department for giving the people what they wanted. Tune in for yourself and count along:

WATCH: Pete Werner snags his first career interception vs. Patriots

WATCH: Pete Werner snags his first career interception vs. Patriots with some help from teammate Jordan Howden

The New Orleans Saints defense put up a gem of a performance against the New England Patriots in Week 5 en route to improving to 3-2 on the season. Among the players that had nice days was Pete Werner as he came away with his first career interception. Rookie safety Jordan Howden had a nice play on the ball that assisted him.

The third-year linebacker out of Ohio State has had a great start to the season, as he leads the team in tackles with 34 so far. With Demario Davis aging, the defense will need Werner to step up as a leader and adding some consistency in the different parts of his game outside of run defense. A interception is certainly a step in the right direction.

WATCH: Chris Olave catches his first TD pass of 2023

WATCH: New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave catches his first touchdown pass of 2023 to extend the lead against the Patriots

The New Orleans Saints offense looks as good as it has all season today, star receiver Chris Olave got in on the fun against the New England Patriots as he scored his first touchdown of the season. Carr found Olave in the back of the endzone for a five-yard score to put the Saints up 21-0.

Overall, the last two weeks have left a lot to be desired for Olave. The touchdown is nice and could lead to some more offense, but Olave and Carr have not been completely on the same page as of late. The Ohio State product had just one catch for four yards last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Against the Patriots, Olave has added just one catch outside of the score for 12 total yards.

WATCH: Alvin Kamara’s record-breaking TD ends Saints offensive drought

WATCH: Alvin Kamara’s record-breaking TD ends Saints offensive scoring drought

Alvin Kamara put the New Orleans Saints ahead of the New England Patriots by two scores on Sunday with a touchdown run that was big for multiple reasons.

The Saints offense had been without a touchdown since the first quarter of the Week 3 game against the Green Bay Packers, with both the special teams and defensive units scoring touchdowns in the meantime. Finally finding the endzone again could mean big things for the offense’s confidence.

With the touchdown run, Kamara also broke Marques Colston’s franchise touchdown scoring record. Kamara is now up to 73 touchdowns on his career. He has 50 rushing touchdowns, 22 receiving and one kickoff return touchdown from his rookie season. It was his first score of the season as he missed the first three games with suspension, his return to the field has opened up the offense much more.
