Williams is a rugged defensive tackle who signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State.

Philadelphia Eagles waive TE Hakeem Butler

With Dallas Goedert returning to the Eagles 53 man roster, Philadelphia has waived TE/WR Hakeem Butler.

With Dallas Goedert and Jalen Reagor returning to the roster, Butler was the odd man out and will be remembered most for his failed attempt at a fade route with the Eagles trailing the Giants 14-10.

Eagles to activate TE Dallas Goedert off injured reserve in time for Sunday night matchup vs. the Cowboys

Dallas Goedert will return to the Philadelphia Eagles lineup with the news that the team has activated hi off of injured reserve

The Philadelphia Eagles are getting healthy at the right time and their most talented reinforcements are set to return to the roster. Mike Garafalo is reporting that Dallas Goedert is among several Eagles set to come off injured reserve in time for Sunday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Eagles star tight end had racked up 13 receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown before his injury early in the Bengals game. Goedert was hopeful that he’ll be able to play on Sunday and was taking the necessary precautions.

“I’m feeling good. It’s been a blast being able to get out there with the team again, just see their faces a little bit more,” Goedert said after Thursday’s practice via The Inquirer. “When you’re on IR, you’re out of the building for a while. So it’s been good to see those guys. It’s just been a blast to be back. For Sunday, we’re still just day by day. I got to go out there, ran some routes with Carson today. But we’re still taking it slow, making sure everything’s the way it’s supposed to be.”

Goedert will now pair with Richard Rodgers and his presence will be buoyed by the return of Jalen Reagor as well, who’ll pair with Travis Fulgham on the outside.

Andy Dalton ruled out vs. the Eagles; Cowboys to start rookie QB Ben DiNucci on Sunday night in Philadelphia

With the Dallas Cowboys listed Andy Dalton as doubtful with a concussion, Ben DiNucci will start at quarterback against the Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles will enter Sunday Night Football with the chance to log another division victory and it’ll be against a hated opponent starting a rookie quarterback. Veteran signal-caller Andy Dalton was listed as doubtful on Friday’s injury report and that means Ben DiNucci will make his first start.

Tom Pelissero is reporting that the Cowboys have officially downgraded Dalton to out, so DiNucci will indeed get the start.

Dalton was unable to practice this week as he remained in concussion protocol while DiNucci took first-team snaps as he prepared to suit up as the Cowboys’ starter on Sunday Night Football against Philadelphia.

DiNucci is known for his swagger and called the matchup the “opportunity of a lifetime.”

“I think in the span of 10 days I went from being in a sweatshirt and sweat pants to here we are, my number could be called,” DiNucci said Thursday afternoon. “This is everyone’s childhood dream, right? The chance to be the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. What more could you want?

“For me, this is an opportunity of a lifetime.”

DiNucci won’t be a cakewalk for the Eagles defense and the rookie presents something that’s been an Achilles heel for the Birds. DiNucci is accurate and extremely mobile. During his two seasons at James Madison University after transferring from Pittsburgh, DiNucci completed a Football Championship Subdivision-best 70.9% of his passes for 3,441 yards and 29 touchdowns with six interceptions according to Jorie Epstein of USA Today. At James Madison, DiNucci was most effective rushed for 1,002 yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging 4.4 yards per carry during his two seasons after transferring.

The Eagles are among the best in the league at sacking the opposing quarterback, but they’ve been susceptible to agile signal-callers who aren’t afraid to take off.

Jalen Reagor on rookie WR’s making an impact while he’s injured: Things happen for a reason

Jalen Reagor says everything happens for a reason when asked about being injured while his rookie peers make huge impacts with their teams

Jalen Reagor is set to make his return to the Philadelphia Eagles and he’ll have a huge chip on his shoulders after watching some of his peers from the 2020 NFL Draft flourish in his absence.

While Reagor has been injured, Justin Jefferson, Laviska Shenault, Brandon Aiyuk, and Chase Claypool have flourished and made huge impacts for their respective teams.

On Friday Reagor was asked about watching other guys have success while he was injured. The Eagles mentally tough rookie chalked it up to “things happening for a reason” and his patience as the major factors in his confidence.

Reagor was injured in Week 2 and has five catches for 96 yards on the season, including a 55-yard reception in Week 1. On Sunday he could get the chance to take the field with the No. 17 overall pick and a player he’ll be compared to for years to come in the Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb.
