Eddie Murphy reveals new details about the Prince basketball game immortalized on ‘Chappelle’s Show’

We have spent years hearing more and more details from the infamous late-night basketball game played between Prince and his crew, and Eddie and Charlie Murphy, which became one of the all-time greatest sketches from Chappelle’s Show.

Was it true? There was Prince colleague Micki Free confirming it, including details about what was worn that night. There was Samuel L. Jackson saying Prince told him it was true. And there are countless stories about how good the late legend was at hoops.

On Thursday night, we heard from Eddie Murphy himself with an appearance on The Tonight Show. He told Jimmy Fallon basically the same thing his late brother said on Chappelle’s Show — Prince’s team won, and it was all true. But he added a detail: the one player on Eddie’s team that was good got some sneakers from Prince, who had feet who were smaller than the other guy’s. So the Murphys’ star player struggled on the court.

Spider-Man 3 seems to have three different titles. Why?

The Spider-Man 3 movie is going all in on playing with the number three. Not only is the movie rumored to include three different Spider-Men (Tom Holland, Tobey MaGuire and Andrew Garfield) but the film’s top three stars (Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon) announced three different titles for the film.

I’ll let you soak that in for a second.

Yes, the movie has three different titles: Spider-Man: Phone Home (announced by Holland), Spider-Man: Home-Wrecker (announced by Batalon) and Spider-Man: Home Slice (announced by Zendaya). That’s pretty wild and, of course, unprecedented. Surely, Marvel will settle on one title. (And it may not even be any one of these.)

It’s hard to know, exactly, what Marvel is doing here. It’s a marketing ploy, for sure. (I’m writing about it, after all.) But it also seems to be a nod to the multiverse.

Daft Punk announces their split with a cryptic, dramatic video

Daft Punk — the masked electronic music pair of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo that formed in the 1990s and which has put out some amazing music in the last couple of decades — is no more.

The influential duo whose albums included Discovery, Human After All and Random Access Memories released a cryptic but dramatic video on Monday entitled “Epilogue,” and it features footage of one of its members blowing up (!).

What did it mean? Per Variety, “The duo’s longtime publicist officially confirmed the split to Variety and declined to provide further details.”

WandaVision introduced two new super characters, and one more might be on the way

There’s a newly-minted super hero, Monica Rambeau, who is now Photon. In the comics, Rambeau has three different superhero names: Photon, Pulsar and Spectrum. But the most common name was Photon. And there’s a super villain, who had been hiding in plain sight with Wanda and Vision. Agness is Agatha Harkness, as we suspected. For the Marvel fans who read the comics, you were probably yelling: “I told you so!” For the Marvel fans who did not, you’re probably wondering what the heck is going on. I’m here for you.

Special Delivery: EXCLUSIVE interview with photographer Devin Allen on his NEW Under Armour line

Devin Allen did it big for Black History Month.

Devin Allen is a man of many titles and many talents. He’s an activist, a photographer and an artist.

You’ve seen his work on the cover of TIME Magazine, where he shot some of the most raw moments from the Freddie Gray protests of 2015 in Baltimore. He also shot protests after George Floyd was killed by police officers in 2020.

Now, you also know him as a sneaker designer.

Allen teamed up with Under Armour to create their new collection for Black History Month. Allen designed his own colorways on four different distinct silhouettes with the brand — the Curry 8, the HOVR Phantom 3, the Forge and the Spawn 3.

They were each inspired by his upbringing in West Baltimore and all of the work he’s done to uplift the community around him. He joined the SPECIAL DELIVERY crew to talk about those inspirations, his designs and what it means to him to have his own sneaker.
