Where is Ohio State on the list of greatest college football teams of all-time?

A look at the greatest college football teams of all time according to expert Jeff Sagarin’s formula including a breakdown of Big Ten teams.

When was the last time you had the great debate over which college team in which era fielded the best team ever?  Earlier today?  Thought so.  Well, now we can finally settle this debate once and for all (or at least try).  With it being the 150th season of college football, longtime USA TODAY computer rankings expert Jeff Sagarin compiled a list of the top 150 teams in college football history.

This task was not an easy one considering how much college football has changed and evolved over the year. Sagarin explained that the ranking method combined a won-loss-tie method with a pure score method to attempt to eliminate one method from dominating during the process. He stated: “To achieve a high rating, a team must have a great won-loss record, have won its games by decisive scores, and also have played a decent schedule.”

Where do Big Ten teams rank? Let’s take a look…

WATCH: Lee Corso picks Ohio State to beat Clemson

Watch as ESPN personality Lee Corso puts on the Brutus head gear and picks Ohio State to beat Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl.

It’s a time-honored tradition, sort of. Ever since ESPN’s College Game Day began using Lee Corso to pick the game winner of what the sports programming giant considered the biggest game of the week, it’s taken a life of its own.

In the way only Corso can, he riles up the crowd, often using headgear and other props to make his pick. Of course it’s only opinion, but many tune in and eat it up. Some even cherish it more than anything else in the popular pregame show.

The Game Day crew was at it again Saturday morning, and when it came time for Corso to make his pick against the backdrop of State Farm Stadium, he went against the grain and picked Ohio State to beat Clemson.

“Brutus was my first pick 23 years ago,” said Corso. “I picked them thirty times since then, but it’s the first time I picked them as an underdog. Give me Brutus — go Ohio State.”

You can get a look at his pick and how he did it by clicking on the below thanks that was shared by the official twitter feed of College Game Day.

Hungry Yet Humble – Ohio State Football Players Making a Difference

Ohio State did an outreach event leading up to the Fiesta Bowl. Get a look at the impact it had.

While the major focus this week has been preparing for the opening match of the NCAA College Football Playoff, Ohio State football players made time to give back. On Monday, approximately 40 Buckeyes teamed up with children in need to take them on a shopping spree.

The event was a partnership between Dick’s Sporting Goods and Child Crisis Arizona, an organization that supports at-risk youth and families in Arizona. The players helped the children pick out clothes, toys, and equipment to ensure this holiday season will be one to remember.  Dicks Sporting Goods and the Fiesta Bowl Charities each equally contributed to allow each child to have $200 to spend on any item in the store.

Ohio State DE Zach Harrison had this to say about the event: “It’s rewarding to take part in events like this because it’s a reminder that not everyone is as fortunate as we are. I love doing this. I love being able to put a smile on a kid’s face. It’s very rewarding.

The No 2. seed Ohio State Buckeyes are back in action when they take on the No. 3 seed Clemson Tigers Saturday in the Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix, Arizona. The game is schedule for 8 PM EST.

Ohio State vs. Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl: How and where to watch and listen

Ohio State and Clemson are all set to square off in the 2019 Fiesta Bowl. Here’s the television, radio and streaming information.

It’s finally here.

Ohio State shocked most of the media world by taking a first-year head coach and new quarterback and laying waste to every team in its wake. It’s now off to bigger and better things in the College Football Playoff semifinal.

Standing in their way? It’s a familiar face that’s been on top of the college football world, the Clemson Tigers. Both have been in the Phoenix area preparing for the game, and now it’s about to get real in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl

We know you want to watch this titanic matchup between two of college football’s superpowers, and we have all the information you need to find the game whether it be on the television, radio, or streaming device.

Ohio State vs. Clemson: 3 Keys for a Buckeyes’ victory

If Ohio State is going to be Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl, it’ll have to follow and execute its game plan. Here are 3 keys to the game.

And here we are on the doorstep of the biggest game Ohio State football has had in three years (sorry Michigan). In fact, it was the last time the Buckeyes matched up with Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl that we had the same type of implications. The desired destination is the College Football Playoff after all. Hopefully though, things end a little better this time around.

There’s no way around it. Beating a Clemson team on top of the college football world right now is going to be a Lord of the Rings type of journey with everyone pulling their weight. But let it be known, despite most of the media-types out there siding with the Tigers in this one, Ohio State has the horses, athletes, and coaching to get it done.

However, there’s certain things that will have to go OSU’s way if it expects to slay the dragon and make it to the next step of the journey in New Orleans. From there, it’ll have the opportunity to win the program’s ninth national championship (depending on what and how you count).

So what exactly is do the Buckeyes have to do for this thing to have confetti falling on them rather than a Clemson team? Here’s three things we think have to happen to make that a possibility.

Ohio State vs. Clemson: Rayman the orangutan picks Ohio State over Clemson

Rayma the Orangutan picked Ohio State to beat Clemson at the Phoenix Zoo today. Watch the crowd go wild when the OSU t-shirt wins out.

They have a bit of a tradition at the Phoenix Zoo. It has everything to do with animals picking the winners of important football games. For the Fiesta Bowl, Rayma the orangutan got a chance to shine by picking the winner of Satuday’s matchup between Ohio State and Clemson. Rayma was give two t-shirts from each opposing team and then the wait began.

Let it be known that Rayma has chosen the last two Super Bowl winners correctly, so this ape knows a thing or two about breaking down a game apparently. Forget your ESPN and other media talking heads. Our distant, hairy cousin knows the real deal.

So Ohio State fans should be excited then that the t-shirt that was picked was a scarlet one rather than the orange threads of Clemson. You can watch fans go wild as Rayma looks for all the world to begin picking the Tigers shirt, but then makes a last minute switch and grabs the Ohio Sate one and pulls it it on and swashbuckles away.

Take that Clemson.

Ohio State releases depth chart and availability information for Fiesta Bowl vs. Clemson

Ohio State has released its depth chart and injury and availability information for the Fiesta Bowl vs. Clemson.

Every Friday Ohio State releases information on the depth chart and player availability for the upcoming game, and thankfully the season isn’t over yet. Far from it. Of course you know that, but we’ve got the depth chart and “injury” report from the fine folks at OSU, and we like to pass it on.

In some ways, the Buckeyes might be as healthy as they’ve ever been. There aren’t any players listed as game-time decisions, and all key players from this season look to be healthy and ready to go against an impressive Clemson squad that’s looking to add its third national title in four years.

Of course we don’t really now how effective quarterback Justin Fields is, but we know he’s going to go out and lay it all on the line and is most likely in better shape than he was against Michigan.

Here’s what Ohio State has released for personnel-wise for 2019 Playstation Fiesta Bowl.

Ohio State vs. Clemson: 3 reasons the Tigers could give the Buckeyes problems in Fiesta Bowl

Ohio State and Clemson are about to face off in the Fiesta Bowl. Here’s three reasons a talented Tigers squad could give the Buckeyes fits.

The Ohio State football team is looking to continue this unbelievable journey it has been on in 2019, but there is a whale of a team standing in its way out in the desert. The Clemson Tigers are the defending national champions and have won the title two out of the last three years.

There’s not many teams that match up athletically with this Buckeye squad, but Clemson is no doubt one of them. There are interesting storylines and matchups across the board, and there’s no doubt the Buckeyes will have to play their best game of the year to move on to New Orleans for a shot at a national championship.

But it won’t be easy. Here’s three reasons the Clemson Tigers could give Ohio State fits out in Glendale.

Ohio State vs. Clemson Buckeye Battle Cry: What advantage can the Buckeyes exploit?

What one area does Ohio State have over Clemson that it can exploit to win the 2019 Fiesta Bowl? Members of our staff discuss in our BBC.

Okay, it’s almost time for the biggest of the big ones. Ohio State and Clemson are finishing up their preparations for one of the College Football Playoff national semifinals, and doing it all in the desert at the Playstation Fiesta Bowl. And it’s Friday, so it’s time for our weekly roundtable we like to call the Buckeye Battle Cry.

So far there’s been a lot of build up and a lot of talk, but it’s almost time to put the pads on, strap up the helmets and settle it all on the field. Oh but wait. Seems like nobody is giving Ohio State a shot in this one because last time the two met, the Buckeyes got taken behind the woodshed to the tune of a 31-0 drubbing.

But it’s a completely different team on both sidelines so that should mean little in this one. In fact, Ohio State has some advantages over this Clemson team. On that note, we decided to ask our contributors the one thing about this Buckeye squad that could mean all the difference in beating the defending champions and moving on to New Orleans for a national championship.

Have at it Mark.

We’re putting it in writing again. Members of our staff take turns at picking the final score of Ohio State and Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl.

And. Here. We. Go.

Finally, after a couple of weeks of talk, buildup, media sessions, plane flights and swag bags, it’s now time to put the product on the field. Ohio State and Clemson on just about ready to face off in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl and it feels like a bit of a coin flip.

Both teams have a ton of athleticism and speed, great coaching, and a pedigree to pull it off. In fact, this one might come down to a play or two being the difference in the sixty minute contest.

Ohio State is 0-3 all-time against Clemson, and the last time these two matchup up in 2016, it didn’t go so well. But this year could be different.

As we always do, we through it out to our contributors to provide their score predictions and rationale for which team wins the game. So here we go …
