Hector Tanajara vs. William Zepeda fight odds, picks and prediction

Breaking down Friday’s Hector Tanajara vs. William Zepeda lightweight fight, with boxing odds, picks and predictions.

We get a 10-round lightweight bout Friday when Hector Tanajara and William Zepeda meet at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. The fight will start at approximately 8 p.m. ET. Below, we break down the Tanajara vs. Zepeda odds, with boxing picks and predictions.

The fight card will stream live on DAZN.

Tanajara, a.k.a. “El Finito”, has never lost in 19 career bouts as a professional. And while he has gotten plenty of wins, El Finito hasn’t finished his opponents early. In fact, he has just five KO/TKO wins, and none since he dropped Eduardo Rivera in the first round at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, Calif., Feb. 2, 2018. His past seven fights have all went the distance.

The southpaw Zepeda, on the other hand, isn’t in the mood to have his fights decided by the judges. In his 22 career bouts, he has went the distance just twice with 20 KO/TKO victories. That includes a five-round KO of Roberto Ramirez last time out at Wild Card Boxing in L.A. Nov. 19. Each of his past three fights have ended via KO/TKO, but facing Tanajara is a big step up in competition.

Tanajara vs. Zepeda: Odds, predictions and picks

Tanajara (-110) has easily been the better technical boxer and showed well against some good competition. ZEPEDA (-110), however, is a punching machine that has dropped most of his opponents. The challenge is facing a big step up in competition, but Zepeda has the punching power to make the difference here. I think Tanajara hangs in there, and can go the distance, but Zepeda gets the decision.

Tanajara vs. Zepeda best bet

Zepeda will get some big blows in, but Tanajara is tough and won’t be dropped like his other opponents. Zepeda will have to work for it, but his big punching power will be enough to sway the judges. In fact, it could end in a majority draw, that’s how razor-thin the margin could be. In the end, however, ZEPEDA ON POINTS (+300) is the attractive play.

In addition, play YES (-175): WILL THE FIGHT GO FULL 10 ROUNDS, since either way, Tanajara or Zepeda, I see this one needing the cards of the judges to decide a winner.
