The ending of Bucks-Celtics Game 3 was an absolutely chaotic sequence of events and it was great

What just happened?

If you somehow missed Bucks-Celtics Game 3, just go back and watch the last 50.0 seconds. It’s all you need to see.

Trailing 100-99, Giannis Antetokounmpo took the inbound after a Milwaukee timeout and euro-stepped his way to the lane to finish a layup that would put the Bucks up 101-100.

Ok, now to the other end.

Jaylen Brown races up the left sideline, puts a move on Jrue Holiday, and then bursts to the basket only to meet Giannis at the rim for an uncontested miss.

Back the other way — 33 seconds left.

Holiday iso’s left and absorbs a Jayson Tatum bump (offensive foul?) and spins off of a tumbling Tatum to drop in a floater down the middle of the lane to give Milwaukee a three-point lead.

Timeout Celtics. They draw up something that doesn’t work, but the ball ends up in Marcus Smart’s hands as he comes off of a dribble handoff. He’s immediately raked across the arm by Holiday as he attempts a three.

But, wait. It was BEFORE the shot???

You be the judge:

Anyways, Smart went to the line to attempt the gold ole “make the first, miss the second and get an offensive rebound” strategy that never works out. Until it does.

After connecting on the first, Smart launched the second free throw attempt off the rim and then chaos ensued. I can’t even begin to explain. Just watch:

What a crazy but entertaining finish to a playoff game. Game 4 is going to be fantastic.

A ‘drunk’ Drake hilariously shades NBC in Kentucky Derby interview

Drake and Jack Harlow are having a good time and they don’t want it to end.

Raise your hand if you were expecting to see Jack Harlow on your TV screen during your Kentucky Derby viewing.

Now, raise your (other) hand if you had Drake making an appearance.

I’ll wait.

I’ll wait, similarly to how NBC had to patiently wait to cut to a different segment as an admittedly-drunk Drake, ignored all the wrap-it-up signals that were apparently given to him.

Can you blame the man?

He was busy having a good time with fellow rapper Jack Harlow, who was back in his hometown of Louisville for the Kentucky Derby just days after dropping his latest album—appropriately featuring a track titled “Churchill Downs”.

Of course, the two bet on Happy Jack. When in Harlow’s hometown, what other option is there?

Carry on with your Kentucky Derby viewing. Be surprised (or don’t) if there are more hilarious moments prior to the big race.

Mattress Mack came to the 2022 Kentucky Derby with $4 million and an absolutely wild suit

Mattress Mack gets it!

Mattress Mack is pulling up to the Kentucky Derby ready and willing to bet $4 million dollars, and he’s prepared to do so in quite possibly one of the most unique outfits you’ve ever seen.

And by unique, we mean amazing. Because it takes a brilliant mind to even think of getting a jacket customized with every horse since the start of the Kentucky Derby to win the Run for the Roses— but in true Mack fashion, he included the winner and their odds.

The best part of the whole jacket is undoubtedly the inside, where he’s got pictures throughout of “Run Happy,” his favorite horse of all time.

Creativity gets an A+. Execution gets an A+. Shoutout to his designer.

If covering yourself in winners doesn’t provide the vibes you want at the Kentucky Derby, nothing will.

2022 Kentucky Derby: How big is the purse and how much money goes to the winner?

Ever wondered how much money the Kentucky Derby winner makes?

America’s biggest horse race, the Kentucky Derby, is all set for Saturday evening. And while the event is a big day in the world of sports gambling as bettors hope to land a big payout, the real money earners are the race’s participants.

Ever wondered what the reward is for competing in the Kentucky Derby?

Well, riders must finish in the top five to earn any of the Derby’s purse, which remains at $3 million for the fourth consecutive year. The winner will receive 60 percent of the total purse, which amounts to $1.86 million. Then, $600,000 going to second, $300,000 to third, $150,000 to fourth and $90,000 to fifth.

Not a bad payout for just a few minutes of work.

The Sky lost their opener to Sparks after absurd foul call forced OT, and fans were furious

A bad stroke of luck for the defending champs.

A year after their first WNBA title, the Sky enter the 2022 season with high hopes.

One of the league’s deeper teams, Chicago seems poised to repeat. Hey, with Candace Parker and Courtney Vandersloot, that sort of success almost seems inevitable.

And, in all likelihood, they may still get that repeat title yet. But in Game 1, at the beginning of their title defense, the Sky (-3.5 point favorites coming in) lost a 98-91 heartbreaker to the Sparks. They’ll probably move on from this soon but, thanks to a terrible call, it doesn’t sting any less.

Let’s take it to the end of the fourth quarter, with the Sky nursing an 88-85 lead. Jordin Canada took the ball the length of the court before pulling up for a three, as Dana Evans came to challenge her. When Canada rose, it seemed Evans made contact, and the officials gifted Canada three throws to force overtime. There, L.A. would eventually pull away and win.

But did Evans really foul her?

Oh no. Oh goodness, no. That is the definition of a soft call. Like, it’s nonexistent contact that should have never decided the final result. That’s absurd officiating which took away a win from the Sky.

Fans watching the game were similarly displeased about the call.

Kentucky Derby 2022 updated odds as of the morning of the race

An updated look at the odds on Saturday morning

Happy Kentucky Derby day to you all as the 2022 edition of the Run for the Roses will take place at Churchill Downs later on Saturday.

We’ve given you updated odds, starting with the morning lines from Monday’s draw, updates on Thursday and now it’s time to look at where they’re at on Saturday morning as we get ready (and, if you want another angle, we’ve ranked every Derby horse name this year as we usually do).

It’s always worth noting that these odds will change up to the start of the race, but here they are as of Saturday morning around 7:45 AM ET:

Bruins fans banged on the penalty box glass so hard, it broke and struck the attendant

Oh no. Hopefully, he’s OK!

Entering Friday’s home Game 3 against the Hurricanes, fans in Boston were hoping the Bruins would turn around a lopsided series. With Carolina taking each of the first two games by a combined 10-3 margin, hope was minimal but not lost.

After all, home cooking does matter in the NHL playoffs. And as the adage goes: It’s not a series (or it’s not over) until someone loses a home game. So you can bet Boston fans were a bit excited.

That excitement boiled over when the Bruins jumped out to a 3-1 lead on a David Pastrnak goal that sent TD Arena in Boston into absolute frenzy.

Though, it seems the situation got a little too crazy.

Fans celebrating Pastrnak’s goal near the glass were, naturally, banging on it quite hard. In particular, the glass around the penalty box didn’t seem to be strong enough to withstand the fans’ pressure.

The glass broke. And a large shard of it struck the attendant sitting in the booth.

Trainers immediately checked on the attendant, who had to be taken off on a stretcher while wearing a neck brace.

What a scary, unfortunate moment.

NBA fans were ecstatic to see a masked Joel Embiid again

Everyone cared who Embiid was before and after he put on the mask.

Joel Embiid’s one of the best players in the NBA. So whenever he misses time because of an injury — like an orbital fracture suffered against the Raptors in the first round of the playoffs — his absence is felt immensely.

With the 76ers losing both initial games of their second-round series against the Heat, it was obvious they missed the big man. Without his perennial MVP-like prowess, Philadelphia was without a paddle. And don’t be mistaken: Embiid knew that, too.

To potentially save the 76ers’ season (who entered as +1.5 underdogs before Game 3) it was time to pull out all the stops.

It was time to … put on THE MASK.

While Embiid is wearing that mask for safety reasons so he can play, it doesn’t make him look any less cool.

NBA fans on Twitter hoping the superstar would don THE MASK agreed with both the style choice and his courage.

Cameras captured Bailey Zappe’s emotional reaction when he learned the Patriots drafted him

I’m not crying, YOU’RE CRYING.

Entering the 2022 NFL Draft, quarterback wasn’t a significant need for the Patriots. A year prior, New England used a first-round pick on Mac Jones. While Jones is far from an untouchable veteran star, Bill Belichick definitely wasn’t looking to replace a second-year player.

But that didn’t mean the Patriots couldn’t still take a passer — albeit someone who’d likely project more as a backup. Enter Bailey Zappe, who quickly learned it’s best never to say never.

On Day 3 of the Draft, Zappe had yet to hear his name called. Like many prospects, the former Western Kentucky standout waited for a phone call while hanging out with loved ones. His time was coming; he just didn’t think it’d ever happen with the Patriots.

And boy — when they picked Zappe at No. 137 overall in the fourth round, it made for a heartwarming moment.

Wow, what a powerful scene.

It’s not necessarily unique in itself that someone like Zappe has an emotional reaction to his dream coming true. But when you package that emotion with a healthy dose of surprise, when that dream comes true when you least expect it: That pulls at the heartstrings.

We’ll see what Zappe can achieve with the Patriots soon enough. For now, I’m sure he and his family are still basking in that moment of celebratory shock.
