Georgia Bulldogs freshman WR arrested for reckless driving

Georgia freshman wide receiver Sacovie White arrested, released on $26 bond for reckless driving

Georgia Bulldogs freshman wide receiver Sacovie White was arrested early on Saturday morning. White was charged with reckless driving for driving down the wrong way on a one-way street.

Athens-Clarke County Police booked White into Clarke County Jail at 3:04 a.m. on Saturday. White was released about an hour later on bonds totaling $26.

White is not the only Georgia player arrested this offseason. Florida transfer running back Trevor Etienne was charged with a DUI in March. Etienne could be suspended for Georgia’s season opener against Clemson.

Sacovie White played high school football for Cass High School in Cartersville, Georgia. White enrolled early for Georgia and scored a 26-yard touchdown in Georgia’s spring game.

Cass football coach Steve Gates offered his thoughts on White’s traffic incident.

“It was a big weekend in Athens, a lot going on all over campus. He made a mistake by turning down a one-way road,” said Gates. “What I’m proud of is that there was no drinking or speeding involved that I would have been disappointed in obviously. But a traffic violation that occurs on the regular, bet he won’t go down that road again.”

Georgia hosted several elite recruits for a scavenger hunt over the weekend. A recent Atlanta Journal-Constitution report notes that speed and a passenger hanging out of White’s window were factors in White’s arrest.

Michella Chester explained why she bumped Georgia up to the No. 3 softball team in her top-10 power rankings.

No. 3 was a tough choice between a mix of Stanford, Georgia and Duke, all sitting around the same spot. I ended up giving it to the Dawgs, who had an impressive sweep over a strong Ole Miss team on the road.

Georgia softball’s next game is at Kennesaw State on March 27 at 6:30 p.m. ET. After that, Georgia hosts Arkansas in a three-game SEC series from Saturday to Monday.

Ranking Georgia football’s best 2022 home games

What are Georgia’s best home games for the 2022 football season? We rank all six. What do you think of Georgia’s 2022 home schedule?

The Georgia Bulldogs have an interesting schedule for the 2022 college football season, but the Dawgs don’t have the best home slate. Why is Georgia’s 2022 home schedule not as enticing as it could be?

Two of Georgia’s most interesting games are scheduled for neutral sites. The Dawgs open the season against Oregon on Sept. 3 in Atlanta and play Florida on Oct. 29 in Jacksonville. These two neutral site games will both be fun, but if one of them were a home game, Georgia’s home schedule would be better.

Still, Georgia’s strength of schedule should not be questioned. The Bulldogs face a pair of Power Five nonconference foes again in 2022.

What are Georgia’s best home games for the 2022 season? We rank all six of Georgia’s games that are set to be played in Athens:

Matthew Boling, Georgia Bulldogs finish 5th at NCAA Championships

Georgia entered the meet as the top ranked men’s track program in the country. The Bulldogs ended the event with 32 points and a great fifth place finish. The Florida Gators won the national championship thanks to some impressive performances from athletes like Joseph Fahnbulleh at the Eugene, Oregon, event.

Georgia’s Kyle Garland showed off his versatility and finished third in the decathlon. Elija Godwin finished third in the 400-meter final and set a school record with a time of 44.50 seconds. Darius Carbin finished second in the high jump with a final jump of 2.24 meters.

Additionally, Matthew Boling finished second in the 200-meter final. He posted a strong time of 20.13 seconds.

Boling came in sixth place in the 100-meter final. He may be a little bit disappointed in the result, but is only a sophomore.
