Steelers vs Ravens Tuesday injury report

The Steelers have a long injury list but the majority of it is great news for returning players.

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens were both hard at work on Wednesday as the two teams prepared to square off for the third time this season on Saturday night. The Steelers split the regular-season series with the Ravens and you throw out the records once the tournament starts.

For the Ravens, they were working minus their top wide receiver. Zay Flowers missed Tuesday’s practice as he continues to work his way back from a knee injury and his status is firmly in jeopardy.

In addition, starting safety Kyle Hamilton (knee) and running back Justice Hill (concussion/illness) were limited.

Pittsburgh is nearly back to full strength heading into this week’s game but their list was somewhat longer.

Steelers injury update: WR gets in another full practice on Tuesday

Roman Wilson got in a full workout on Tuesday.

Another day and another full practice for rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson. The Pittsburgh Steelers are just days away from their playoff showdown against the Baltimore Ravens and on Tuesday, the rookie wide receiver got in another full workout as the team decides whether to place him on the 53-man roster or leave him inactive for the remainder of the season.

Pittsburgh drafted Wilson with their first of two third-round picks in the 2024 NFL draft. Wilson was supposed to be the player to come in and add some punch at slot receiver. Unfortunately, injuries have cost him his rookie season and squandered so much rookie potential.

But perhaps there is some hope that Wilson might be placed on the roster before the upcoming playoff showdown and we can get a look at where he is in terms of health and development. Despite not practicing with the team, Wilson should be familiar with the system and if he’s healthy and in good conditioning, should be able to give a woeful group of receivers a little boost.

Everything you need to know about Steelers’ NFL playoffs record, history and more

A closer look at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ playoff history reveals their journey through decades of postseason football.

Although the Mike Tomlin-led Steelers suffered a late-season collapse to end the 2024 regular season—losing four straight contests to drop to 10-7—the Pittsburgh faithful have plenty to be excited about. The Steelers could be primed for their first playoff win in seven years when they take on the Baltimore Ravens in the wild-card round.

Since 1947, the Pittsburgh Steelers have compiled a 36-28 record in the NFL playoffs. The Steelers’ first playoff game in the Super Bowl era came in 1972 against the Oakland Raiders, a 13-7 victory that marked the beginning of their modern postseason legacy.

Historically, the Black and Gold have struggled in the wild-card round, losing six of their fourteen matchups. However, they’ve excelled in the divisional round, posting an impressive 16-10 record. Pittsburgh’s AFC Championship record stands at 8-8, though the team hasn’t claimed the conference title since the 2010 season.

The Steelers’ last playoff win came in the 2016 divisional round against the Kansas City Chiefs, leaving fans of the Steel City eager for another postseason breakthrough.

If Pittsburgh can defeat the Baltimore Ravens in the 2024 wild-card round, history suggests they could build on their divisional-round success to make a deeper playoff run—and potentially win their seventh Super Bowl title.

Steelers injury update: Mason McCormick in a ‘wait and see’ scenario

It isn’t clear if the Steelers will have Mason McCormick on Saturday.

When the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, they might have to do so without one of their best offensive linemen. Rookie starting guard Mason McCormick suffered a broken hand in last week’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and his status for the Wild Card playoff game is up in the air.

If McCormick cannot go, Spencer Anderson would be the starting right guard. This would be the third right guard Pittsburgh has had this season. McCormick took over for James Daniels when he went on IR and played very well as a rookie.

The Steelers head into Saturday’s playoff game on a four-game losing streak. Pittsburgh finished the season 10-7.

Mike Tomlin on Ravens playoff game: ‘Familiarity adds depth to strategic waters’

Mike Tomlin emphasizes focus, lessons from setbacks, and strategic depth in rivalry rematch as Steelers prep for Ravens in NFL playoffs.

After a rocky finish to the regular season, the Pittsburgh Steelers focus forward as they prepare to face the Baltimore Ravens in the wild-card round of the NFL playoffs. Despite losing four straight games and dropping from a 10-3 record to the No. 6 seed, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin remains unwavering in his approach.

“We met this morning, and kind of got started with the introduction, talking about a mindset and focus,” Tomlin said today in his Ravens preview press conference. “It’s not about pouting over the last month. It’s about this week for us.”

The Steelers and Ravens are no strangers to each other, having already clashed twice and splitting the series. “We’re playing someone that we’re highly familiar with. They’re also highly familiar with us,” he said. “It’s the third time these two teams have come together. We’ll do it in their venue. And so there’s a lot of work ahead of us in preparation for performance.”

Rather than dwelling on recent struggles, Tomlin sees opportunity. “For us, it’s important that we take the lessons we learned from the last month. Unfortunately, you probably learn more when there’s failure. And obviously, we’ve experienced some of that,” he said.

As the Steelers prepare, they embrace the challenge of facing their rival again. With playoff hopes on the line, Steelers Nation can only hope that Pittsburgh is finally ready to prove they’re not finished.
