Steelers vs Browns: 4 bold predictions for week 2

George Pickens goes off and so does T.J. Watt this week in a losing effort for the Steelers.

After watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play last week, it is hard to be bold this week with any level of confidence. Pittsburgh went out and stunk up Acrisure Stadium and now has to find a way to get back on track at home against the Cleveland Browns.

Here are our four boldish predictions for this week:

Steelers announce multiple roster and practice squad moves

Pittsburgh placed Cam Heyward on IR and announced several other roster changes this week.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been very busy this week shuffling their 53-man and practice rosters to account for the long list of injuries. The Steelers are preparing to square off against the Cleveland Browns this week and it isn’t clear just who will be available.

Having said that, the Steelers announced multiple roster moves on Friday.

The Steelers placed defensive tackle Cam Heyward on IR. They also released cornerback Anthony Brown from the practice squad. Pittsburgh promoted wide receiver Dez Fitzpatrick to the active roster to replace Diontae Johnson this week.

Pittsburgh also brought back running back Greg Bell and cornerback Luq Barcoo to the practice squad. To make room, the team placed cornerback Josiah Scott on the practice squad injured list.

The Steelers are preparing to take on the 1-0 Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football. Multiple players missed or were limited on Thursday’s practice report.

Spotlight is on Steelers WR George Pickens this week vs. Browns

George Pickens should have a huge game this week against the Browns.

It might be put up or shut up time for the Pittsburgh Steelers offense this week. After a near-perfect preseason, Pittsburgh stumbled out of the gate against the San Francisco 49ers last week, and the offense in particular was completely out of sorts.

This week the sledding doesn’t get any easier with the Cleveland Browns coming to town. To compound things, starting wide receiver Diontae Johnson is going to be sidelined with a hamstring injury he suffered last week against the 49ers.

If the offense is going to bounce back, it’s going to fall on the shoulders of quarterback Kenny Pickett but also his top target, George Pickens. The cameras caught how frustrated was Pickens on the sideline last week. Pickens only saw four targets against San Francisco, catching three passes for just 19 yards. If the Steelers have any chance of beating the Browns this week, Pickens is going to need a much better game, and some of that falls on him.

49ers OT Trent Williams trolls Steelers anemic offense

Trent Williams said he wished the Steelers offense would have been better so he could have had a break.

Sunday’s performance by the Pittsburgh Steelers offense was dreadful. The Steelers scored one touchdown on the team’s final drive of the first half and finished with only 239 yards of offense. 95 of them came on that drive.

This meant the Steelers defense spent entirely too long on the field meaning the Niners offense spent a ton of time on the field scoring all those points. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco offensive tackle Trent Williams talked about this predicament and he trolled the Steelers offense big time with his response.

“At one point, you just kind of wanted (the Steelers) to get a first down,” Williams said. “There were all those three-and-outs and we kind of needed a break.”

I’m not sure there is a bigger shot you can take at a team than you say that you wish the opposing offense was a little better so you could get some rest.

Steelers open as 2.5-point home underdogs to the Browns

The Steelers got blown out by the 49ers in Week One.

The first week of the NFL regular season went about as poorly as it could for the Pittsburgh Steelers in a blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Meanwhile, things for the Cleveland Browns went perfectly as they upset the Cincinnati Bengals right out of the gate.

This week the Steelers and Browns square off at Acrisure Stadium and it is as close to a must-win game as the Steelers could have in the second week of the season.

But despite these two teams squaring off from opposite worlds in Week Two, the oddsmakers haven’t given up on Pittsburgh just yet. According to BetMGM, the Steelers are only 2.5-point underdogs this week. After watching what happened last week, that is more than generous.

History says the Steelers will beat the Browns but you can’t put too much stock in that given Pittsburgh’s dominance over the Browns was due in large part to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

The Steelers were only 2.0-point underdogs last week but found a way to lose 30-7 to the San Francisco 49ers.

Steelers vs Browns: 4 big causes for concern this week

The Steelers could find themselves in big trouble if they lose to the Browns in Week Two.

While the Steelers were busy getting blown out by the San Francisco 49ers, the Browns upset the Cincinnati Bengals. Here’s what everyone should be concerned about this week.

Steelers vs Browns: 4 changes we want to see this week

It’s time to get Breiden Fehoko back on the roster and maybe even look for a new punter this week.

It is Tuesday and the Pittsburgh Steelers have to get back to work. There’s no time to sit around and feel sorry for themselves after getting routed by the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. It is not the time to panic but if this sort of loss doesn’t prompt some level of changes, nothing will. Here are four things we want to see happen this week.
