According to multiple reports, former Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde is headed to the Seattle Seahawks. He had been a free agent after one year with the Houston Texans, but will now get an opportunity to continue his seventh season in the NFL.
Official and complete details of the contract have not been announced, but according to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, the one-year contract could earn him up to $4 Million.
Hyde broke into the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers as a second-round NFL draft pick back in 2014. He slowly increased his production in the Bay area with a bruising running style until he landed with the Cleveland Browns in 2018. In Cleveland he was never really utilized to his maximum, and was eventually shipped to Jacksonville where he was released prior to the end of the season.

After a season in purgatory, Hyde found more stable footing last season in Houston, going for career highs in yards and carries — surpassing 1,000 yards for the first time in his career.
Now, he’ll get a shot to continue that momentum up in the Pacific Northwest.
