Cade Doughty walks it off for LSU in series-clinching Game 2 win over Missouri

Doughty’s RBI single in the bottom of the ninth was LSU’s second walk-off of the season.

Blake Money and the LSU Tigers were looking to get back over .500 in conference play tonight against Missouri and they did just that in Friday night’s 4-3 win.

With the game knotted up at three runs apiece after nine, it went to extra innings. However, [autotag]Cade Doughty[/autotag] called game in the bottom of the 10th with a walk-off base hit to secure the win.

The Tigers took Game 2 with their second walk-off of the season and secured a win in the series. They’ll look for a sweep in Sunday’s finale.

LSU got the scoring started with a Crews Missile from [autotag]Dylan Crews[/autotag] in the bottom of the first inning to take an early lead.

In the top of the third inning, Missouri scored two runs against [autotag]Blake Money[/autotag] to take a 2-1 lead and send Money to the showers after his shortest outing of the season.

Money pitched 2.2 innings and gave up four hits and two runs with three strikeouts. [autotag]Jacob Hasty[/autotag] came in to relieve him and he kept Missouri from scoring any more runs in that inning.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, [autotag]Brayden Jobert[/autotag] got back to his hitting ways as he hit a solo home run to tie the ballgame at 2-2.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, [autotag]Tyler McManus[/autotag] hit a ball to New Orleans and gave LSU a 3-2 lead. When I say that he got all of that ball, believe me, he did.

In the top of the eighth inning, Missouri hit a solo home run on [autotag]Grant Taylor[/autotag] to tie the game as we headed to the ninth inning. Missouri got a couple of base runners in the top of the ninth, but [autotag]Riley Cooper[/autotag] was able to get LSU out of the inning unscathed.

LSU couldn’t score any runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, so to extras we went. In the bottom of the 10th inning, [autotag]Josh Stevenson[/autotag] led off with a double and advanced to third on a ground ball by Crews.

[autotag]Jacob Berry[/autotag] was intentionally walked to put runners on the corner with only one out. Doughty then came through with a walk-off RBI single to secure the series win. Game 3 at Alex Box Stadium will be on Saturday at 12 p.m. CT.
