Another Tampa Bay Buccaneers free agent has found another home.

This time, it’s former Bucs DE [autotag]Genard Avery[/autotag], who is set to sign with the Indianapolis Colts according to their Twitter account. The Colts will be Avery’s fifth NFL team.

Avery’s contributions in Tampa Bay mainly came on special teams. He was present on 236 snaps in 2022 for the Bucs, and around 37% of them came on special teams. Just 6% of his snaps came on defense, and he also suffered an abdomen injury in Week 14 that kept him out for the rest of the year.

Avery becomes the ninth Bucs player to leave for a different team in free agency. It’s unlikely he’ll be the last, but Tampa Bay’s emphasis on returning special teams depth may make his departure easier on the team for 2023.
