The Denver Broncos have announced their list of inactive players for Sunday’s home game against the New York Jets.

Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson (hamstring), cornerback Essang Bassey (hamstring), safety Caden Sterns (hip), inside linebacker Josey Jewell (knee), tight end Albert Okwuegbunam and wide receiver Jalen Virgil will not play in Week 7.

On offense, the Broncos are turning to quarterback Brett Rypien with Wilson sidelined. Rypien will be making his second career start — his first start was a 37-28 win over the Jets in 2020.

On defense, Alex Singleton will continue filling in for Jewell.

Denver elevated third-string QB Josh Johnson from the practice squad to the game-day roster to serve as Rypien’s backup against New York. The Broncos also elevated long snapper Mitchell Fraboni, who is filling in until Jacob Bobenmoyer returns from injured reserve.

Sunday’s game will begin at 2:05 p.m. MT on CBS (view the TV map).
