On Thursday night, the Las Vegas Raiders selected Henry Ruggs III at No. 12 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

He also was the 3rd Alabama player taken off the board, and the first wide receiver drafted in this NFL Draft.

Last season, Ruggs recorded an impressive 40 receptions for 746 yards and 7 TDs.

In his career at Alabama, he had 98 receptions for 1,716 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also had 1 rushing touchdown.

Ruggs will bring a high dose of speed and talent to the Raiders’ offense. He was so much fun to watch at Alabama, and there’s no doubt that he will be a star in the NFL.

Ruggs is the 22nd wide receiver in Alabama football history to be drafted to the NFL. The first ever drafted wide receiver for the Crimson Tide was Ray Perkins, back in 1966.

Henry Ruggs III is also just the 6th wide receiver in Alabama history to be drafted in the first round of any NFL Draft. The most recent wide receiver to be drafted from Alabama in the first round was Calvin Ridley in 2018.

One thing is for certain: the Raiders added a number of Alabama fans on Thursday night when they drafted Ruggs.
