BOOM! Ohio State stays hot on the recruiting trails, adds 2025 defensive tackle Maxwell Roy

BOOM! The Buckeyes add a big-time defensive tackle to their ‘25 class

Ohio State football is going through another one of its hot recruiting stretches.

In June, the Buckeyes added eight commitments to their 2025 class. The good times didn’t stop as the calendar turned over to July, on Monday Ohio State added another top prospect, Pennsylvania defensive tackle [autotag]Maxwell Roy[/autotag].

The 6-foot, 3-inch and 285-pounder is one of the top interior defensive lineman in the country, ranking as the No. 229 overall prospect and 26th at his position according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Roy chose Ohio State over offers from Michigan, Georgia, Oregon, Penn State, USC, Wisconsin, Texas A&M and others.

The Buckeyes now have 22 commits in their 2025 recruiting class, one that continues to pace the sport at the top of the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings. Expect Ohio State to continue to hover around the top of that list for remainder of the cycle.
