Can Corey Bojorquez become more consistent?

The final numbers for Bojorquez were not stellar. As compared to his contemporaries, he was toward the bottom of the NFL’s charts in gross and net yards per kick. There were some booming kicks, followed by some duds. The defense can bail out poor field position only so many times.

Newcomer Kaare Vedvik comes in to provide some competition for Bojorquez. He kicked in one game last year, missing a PAT and field goal with the Jets in the first game of the season, one in which the Bills would eventually win by one point. But wait, he kicked? Yes. Vedvik has the versatility to potentially take place kicks and punts. But after his struggles kicking, he’s going to give punting a go as his primary position now.

Both punters have to improve a bit. However, it’s uncertain if Vedvik can really provide a true challenge to Bojorquez.

Bojorquez, for his part, can’t have another season in which folks are uncertain if there will be a booming punt or a poor result. And on top of that, Bojorquez is a lefty kicker, which makes a difference in the spin of the ball. That could once again give him the…leg up…
