Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde is just one of the players on the team who were disappointed in the squad’s 25-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday. However, aside from the sadness in the loss, Hyde is one of the Bills who talked about not wanting to play in London for reasons outside of the game.
After practice on Wednesday, Hyde was asked his opinion of playing in London for the first time in his career was like. In no uncertain terms, Hyde replied that he’s “so happy that’s over” even though he was glad to experience playing overseas.
“It was a fun opportunity. My first time going over there and playing in my 11 years. Never did it (and) I’m cool with never doing it again,” Hyde said.
Hyde wasn’t the only person on the Bills to show some dissatisfaction with playing in London. Head coach Sean McDermott said that since Buffalo’s energy was not as high as usual, he will think about constructing the travel plans differently if Buffalo is slated to play in London again in the future.
Cornerback Taron Johnson said “that turf is terrible” when talking about the conditions at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Possibly because of the turf, Buffalo came away from Sunday’s with an incredible loss as All-Pro linebacker Matt Milano suffered a knee injury that could be the end of his season.
It seems that nothing good came from the Bills playing in London on Sunday.
