The Buffalo Bills ended up restructuring the contract of linebacker Matt Milano.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the move created $5.172 million in extra cap space for the Bills.
The reworked deal likely helped Buffalo land a few of their free agents last week, including pass rusher Von Miller.
Per Spotrac, Milano was slated to have a $9.97M cap hit in 2022. That’s now down to $4.79M.
In order to gain that space, Buffalo converted part of Milano’s $7.5M base salary for next year and converted it to bonus money throughout the next three seasons.
Last offseason, Milano, 28, inked an extension with the team for four years.
Milano, 27, was a fifth-round pick of the Bills in 2017.
Buffalo safety Micah Hyde also restructured his deal last week.
