Lincoln Riley blocking Chandler Morris’ immediate eligibility to TCU

Oklahoma has had an abundance of talent at the quarterback position since Lincoln Riley took over in 2017. Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray won the Heisman Trophy, while Jalen Hurts and Spencer Rattler have each shined. Next up will be five-star Caleb Williams.

Since the Sooners have such a competitive quarterback room, sophomore Chandler Morris decided to transfer to TCU. While he is on campus in Fort Worth, Lincoln Riley has yet to approve immediate eligibility for Morris. Riley does not believe it is right for players to transfer within the conference without repercussions.

West Virginia’s Tykee Smith is in the transfer portal

West Virginia’s Tykee Smith has put his name in the transfer portal. One of the Big 12’s best defensive backs, Smith was an AP third-team All-American last season. He thanks the staff, his teammates, the fans and academic advisors “for all the love and support” he received during his time in Morgantown.

Smith recorded 62 tackles last season, eight of which were for a loss. He also added on two interceptions and five passes defended.
